I'm surprised Tommy Morrison has never been mentioned on SportsHoopla. I've been fascinated with this guy's story for a long time, especially how delusional he is. Up until the bitter end he firmly believed he never had HIV, was hopelessly addicted to drugs and yet also believed that he could make a heavyweight comeback and would get a call from Sylvester Stallone any day to star in a remake of Rocky V.

Well, according to his mother he has days to live and is actually on life support.

There's virtually nothing positive about this guy's life from the day of the HIV announcement on. Being married to two women at the same time with the same name? Unreal.

The story speculates that it wasn't his blood (obviously). What a complete mess. He lived hard and died young. He probably thought he'd always be hanging out with guys like Stallone in Hollywood but it didn't quite work out that way did it? Seems like someone would try to get ahold of Stallone and see if he might be willing to help Tommy's mother out a little. What a bleak existence.

My father (an ex-pugilist himself) loved Tommy. He loved Tommy like he loved Gerry Cooney and Duane Bobick the other great white Hopes of the day...Then Ray Mercer extinguished the Hope.
