Um, if that's the rotation they don't have to worry about how to handle the playoffs
Yeah, but it's not like we're the only team in this position.

The veteran hitters are going to have to kick it into another gear.

I didn't specify, but I meant like a minor move to get another arm. Especially now with Beede on the DL (and not even starting the past 2 months) the Giants have no SP depth unless they add Shaun Anderson to the 40-man roster.... but I think they'll want to limit his innings as well. I could see them adding a cheap back-end guy in August even just as depth.
Hey, don't forget Tyler Herb, who's pitching well, no . . . decent, no . . is healthy at AAA.

Tommy John is a 12-14 month recovery period if all goes well.

Will Smith had TJ in late March 2017 and returned May 1 2018.
that's true. It could be 14 months and JC would still be 2020

Yeah I'm guessing 2020 for sure. Maybe if the Giants are in a chase he comes back late 2019 for a bullpen role. But 12-14 months is when they're arguably 'healthy' and throwing 100% (or close to), but not counting building up arm strength and whatnot.

As a starter, Cueto won't be right until 2020.
