Texas couldn't have made a better hire imo. Herman was at the top of pretty much everyone's list as far as new coaching hires go ... other than USC and LSU. No idea why those two schools didn't make a play for Herman.

A #1 class is probably an unrealistic pipe dream
But, getting a top 10 class as a new coach with a (5-7) program is a fantastic start.

this might be the highest rated TEXAS class in over 10 years.
He is crushing it....and there are big targets still to get that are suddenly texas leans.

More importantly, the boosters love him as well. They are opening up the checkbooks again.
Charlie Strong never seemed to have the support of any of the boosters from day 1.

What are you talking about? LSU made him an offer, he verbally agreed, when they met to sign the papers he pulled back to hear out Texas. So LSU said screw you. Stupid move, but honestly I think every Tiger knew in order to get Herman Texas needed to finish strong. He would be wearing purple and gold if it wasn't for Texas having a connection with Herman. Plus there are a crap ton of other things Texas has to offer but you get the gist.

Herman definitely does a better job of generating enthusiasm among the recruits than Charlie did. B12 is ripe for them to have a good year.

Mack won a national title and played for another. He didn't clean up just in February, he actually won something. I'm a man I'm 40 hasn't done either one.
