Who is this Van Viliet character? I've never heard you speak of him before Great Dayne!

Andy Van Vliet - 2016-17

He's a 7 footer out of Belgium and played on a pro b-ball team there. Badgers recruited him and he commited to them over several other big name schools. However since he was on a pro team (despite only practicing and not playing in games) The NCAA ruled a week before the season that he had to sit out the 2015-16 season.

He was 6'10 200 lbs when he came to UW. He's now 7 ft about 225a link below for the basic bio.

Damn the kid is already 21? That's like coming in as a senior. I'm glad he doesn't have 4 years of eligibility remaining. He's only two years younger than Michael Kidd Gilchrist who just started his 5th year in the NBA.

I know, he'll have an opportunity to play until he's 25 which is when NBA players start peaking and Michael Jordon and LBJ started balding.

I just hope he can do more than drain 3 pointers (which he's really good at) but that's all I've seen in games so far.

Lauri Markkanen is really, really good btw.

Lotto pick most likely, especially with the numbers he'll put up given we now have a 7 man rotation.

Like, fuck.

We lose Terrance Ferguson (overseas), Allonzo Trier (suspension), Ray Smith (injury) and Chance Comanche (academic issues) all in a short span of time.

Went from 2 deep at every position to ZERO depth. My lord.

Well at least you still have the best recruit and recruiting class next year.

Ayton probably loses eligibility knowing our luck.

I've just been crushed too often to get my hopes up with Arizona basketball anymore.

Yeah that would suck. I hope that doesn't happen. I think having so much talent can soften some of the blows AZ has taken though. Still a sweet 16 team at the very least.
