I think the Lakers can improve from 24 wins to 35-40. That wouldn't be a lottery pick, but still a pretty good one

That's a pretty dramatic improvement. Unless Ball and Ingram step up big time next year, that seems really unlikely. I would say 30 wins would be a more realistic target.

Because the Pacers could easily offer PG straight up to Boston for the #1 that they got. PG would be an excellent fit for team that needs a developed player that is ready to compete in the playoffs. Boston has proved they are ready because they are going to the ECF. In the mean time Fultz or Ball is a good fit for a team like Indiana who is now in a rebuilding mode.

Once Paul George has been teamed up with IT, they could be so good that both are happy and the Lakers would be a distant memory. The other possibility would be the Clippers or San Antonio. San Antonio would especially be a good team. The bottom line is there are no promises of any kind that Paul George comes to the Lakers. I would not wait if I thought getting him now stops Boston from becoming a serious contender and give us a better promise.

If they offer the #1 up, what difference does it make if the Lakers off the #2? Besides, Magic has already stated that the Lakers are keeping their top 3 pick (if kept in the lottery).

Spurs? More likely to get someone like CP3. PG plays Kawhi's position. If PG is a Lakers fan and wants to come home to the Lakers, odds are he isn't a Boston fan. Nobody knows how much truth there is to the PG rumors anyway.

Ball's jumper is awkward, but accurate (41% from 3).

Russell, Randle and Ingram are better prospects than Saric IMO. Simmons is an unknown, but promising for sure. Like I said, I like Embiid but that injury history is really piling up.

No. Saric is rookie of the year and was a huge surprise this year. Russell and Randall, that's laughable.

They won 26 this year. Only 4 more wins? That would be very underwhelming. They would be expecting more than that without keeping their pick.

What do you think the Lakers can offer to get PG?

Where do you keep getting top rated prospect since LeBron?

I'm pretty sure both Oden/Durant were viewed as better prospects and even possily Wiggins early on.

Go read. Highest rated prospect since Lebron. He was the crown jewel of the last 5 years with Wiggins behind him. Embiid, Saric, Simmoms, pick 3, Lakers #1 next year. Sacramento #1 in 2019. Not one bad contract on the team.

I don't think Saric was a "huge surprise." He was expected to be solid -- well-rounded player. He was well-known in Europe to be a ball-handler and shooter -- someone you could run your offense through.

Saric was not the "tall, skinny, Caucasian European shooter" who had a lot of questions about his game.

I wanted you to post a link so I didn't have to go search lol

I wasn't trying to really argue, I just wanted to see where you saw it, because I'm obviously wrong I guess.

You also traded the best player on your team and your team went on a tankapalooza fest after that trade.

You Laker fans were predicting 35 wins this year as well.

Obviously if the Lakers get PG that would change things but I just don't see what you guys could trade except the #2 to get him.

I'm also pretty positive that Lowry is heading to Philly this offseason.

Hope not. We have a young and talented team with no maturity. Don't want a 31 year old even if he'd make them better.

I am talking about Boston who has the #1 pick in the draft this year - That was just decided. If the Pacers were to offer Boston PG for their #1 pick, Boston would get a developed player that could help them immediately and more than what the Lakers can offer. If the Lakers play the waiting game and turn down all offers for Paul George, it's a possibility that Indiana trades him to Boston or another team. I am only saying there is no guarantee of any kind that Paul George still signs with the Lakers next summer. If The Lakers don't trade for him, there is a POSSIBILITY THAT THEY NEVER GET HIM. Just saying

If the Sixers wind up with Monk then I think that bringing Lowry makes sense. Veteran quality PG that the team really needs.

Not like the Sixers have salary cap problems.

12 and 6 and a below average PER of 12.84 is your rookie of the year? Kool-aid. Russell had 15/5/4 and a PER of 15.36. Randle averaged 13 and 9 with a PER of 16.32. They have played longer in the NBA, but Saric isn't exactly a rookie professionally either.

Lakers won 17 last year and 26 this year - that is 9 more games per ESPN standings. That's close enough to 30 to get them over 30 next year in my opinion

Lowry would be a great get. Agree, Monk would be a solid pairing.
