Bert to florida would be awesome!!! he cant win without alvarez telling who to hire and how to recruit etc

Flurrda ain't touching BB.

Would be bizarre if we actually did make a pass at him. I don't think he'd say yes.

Would be a huge mistake if we offered Bert Blowhard anything, maybe towel boy. The guy has proven it was more about his AD and his assistant coaches than it was him as a head coach. He has no interest in building a dynasty in a cold climate school. Bert would be about as dumb a hire as Mike Riley, it is tough to gauge which would be dumber with hindsight of Mike Riley, and seeing how poor and ineffective he has been against bottom dwellers in the SEC hell they almost lost to a FCS school.

I have to think I'd throw in my Husker towel if they were to hire Bert.
I don't have 3 or 4 years to invest listening to or watching that meathead. My apathy meter is about .0001 as it is after the last 3-4 years of bopleeny and another 3 years of this Riley shitshow.
I have a friend's bachelor party to attend this Saturday afternoon and evening. Planning for it began after the blowout home loss to Ohio St. We'll be hitting the casino and a titty bar. Not one of us gives a fuck whether there will be a tv along the way.

BB would be a disastrous hire. I think Mike Leach may be also.

Florida has reportedly thrown in the towel on Frost. Also Marcus Mariota says Tennessee has given up as well. I don't know if Mariota knows what he's talking about but I don't think he would make that up for the hell of it. I also don't think Tennessee ever stood a chance.

He's either staying at UCF (5% chance) or coming home (100% chance).

Let's be honest though, if he was staying put all he would have to do is say he's staying put.

He's not doing that though.

He's fucking N baby.

Florida doesn't want to put all their eggs in one basket on Frost just to have him come to Nebraska. I assume his agent told them he wouldn't entertain negotiations until after UCF's regular season is over. That would potentially include the AAC championship game, so as late as Dec 3rd.
It would be a big risk for them to miss out on other candidates (Chip Kelly) while waiting on Frost, who they know has deep ties to Nebraska.

I'm assuming if he was interested in Florida at all his agent would have told him he's ready to talk.

He just wasn't interested.

Yeah, he's a goner from UCF. They'll never make the CFP as a G5 school. They can be a New Years 6 choice, but that is the ceiling. Frost will have nothing else to accomplish if he does that. Frost may never be hotter than he is right now. He needs to strike while the iron's hot.

Supposedly if you ask Siri who Scott Frost is she says he's the head coach at Nebraska.

I was hoping to get 5 decent seasons out of Riley before bringing in Frost. I figured he could gain the experience as a head coach on someone else's dime.
I still think he's a little green, but I also think he would be a step up from our current coach.
Bring him home.

He just wasn't interested.

I truly believe Frost is just focused on his task at hand. That is his players, beating Temple, USF, and getting to the CCG for a rematch with Memphis.
His agent is likely making a list of all those interested, but Frost doesn't have time to listen to details. You're either there when he's available or you're not. No skin off his ass. There will be plenty of decent P5 jobs available that have the resources he'll need for success.
Florida thought he'd jump on the bait right away. There was rumor that Strickland grew frustrated with Frost's agent. What he was likely frustrated with was that Frost still has a job to do this season and he couldn't talk to Frost personally.
In his own words about 5 days ago, Spurrier is patient for Frost. Florida's AD is not. Spurrier has since walked those words back and is now 100% behind Strickland. Makes sense. They don't want to make a new hire with the perception that Florida's admin is divided on who.

a huge no to Bret.
I'm also against Leach - too much air raid. i understand the offense could work, but i don't want to see it here. i like his personality but i'd rather us have a stout defense than a prolific offense.

WSU's defense is currently rated #32 overall, and gives up 100+ yds(304 ypg, 10th in the nation just behind Auburn) and 10pts less(22.9 ppg, tied with Michigan St for 37th) a game than Nebraska. They have a pretty good defense, and Alex Grinch has made them immensely better in less than 3 years.
