I'm just saying maybe RA should have died a lot sooner. From a conference title perspective it would be in Our best interest

How'd that work out for ya HP? The Huskers went 0-4 after, in losing to Iowa, Maryland, Yale, and Holy Cross. :L

Can Erstad grow any further as a head coach? Barely winning the Big 10 regular season didn't look so good come tourney time. Eichorst is stuck between a rock and a hard place on whether it's the best it will ever be. An occasional Big 10 regular season championship, maybe an oasional Big 10 Tourney championship, and an occasional regional tourney birth with early exit. We'd take that in Nebrasketball, right?
Indiana made it to Omaha a few years ago, so there is hope for at least a super regional I suppose.

My expectations of baseball is to compete for th B1G championship every single year. There's no reason they should ever finish worse than third in the regular season in this league. A regional birth at least 2 out of every 3 years and a super regional at least once every 5 years. Might be unrealistic but oh well

Jake Meyers first Husker to get drafted 13th round by the Astros.

I'm hoping this means he's coming back for his Senior year.

Schreiber goes in the 26th round to Tampa Bay. Safe to say he'll be back next year.

If we can get all 3 of these guys back next year it would help tremendously

Alvarado and Schreiber coming back for their senior years. This is good news although getting Meyers back too would have been HUGE.

No idea what a 13th round pick in baseball makes, but I say chase the dream!! If he wants an education he can always go back for the degree.

Best of Luck to Jake Meyers.

My guess is it's right around the $100,000 signing bonus. Playing in the minors however you don't get paid shit. It's purely for love of the game and chasing the dream of making to the Majors and one day signing a major contract.

Single A players typically make less than $20K per year. Triple A players typically make around $25K per year and are given a $25 per diem for meals when they are on the road.

I'll never knock a kid for chasing a dream. I'd just assume another year in college would mean a higher draft pick and a larger signing bonus.

There was some discussion on the radio that it seems like he and his family liked that he got into the Astros organization because they do a good job of developing their farm system.

$12,000 a year: A minor leaguer takes his fight for fair pay public

a decent signing bonus and the fact most class A players are young is probably enough to keep them well paid until they either give up or move up.

the guy in the article only got $5k for 25th round. he's been trying for 5 years, just seems like maybe he should have given up by now.
