Spoiler: Nevermind on this question, I misread, he is applying for a medical hardship waiver, he already has the medical redshirt. It says he will be eligible for 1.5 years but if he gets the medical redshirt he gets 2 years? Why wouldn't he have 2.5 years if he gets the medical redshirt, is it just because the extra 0.5 years is because he has to sit out 1 year thus can't play next year until January 2018 (thus 1.5 yrs) but with the redshirt he can play immediately (thus 2 full seasons)?
