Huskers won their conference opener series against Michigan (14-3) and (5-1). Currently on a 9 game win streak.

Going for the sweep today.

Up and down year for the Heels. After losing games they should this year they go down to Atlanta and win the series over GT...a place Carolina typically struggles. We hadn't won a series down there since 2009.

Huskers open conference play with a sweep over Michigan.

Things get tougher the next 5 games hosting 2 against Cal St Fullerton (Tue/Wed) and a series against Texas (Fri/Sat/Sun).

A&M 24-1 split a doubleheader on saturday against Alabama. Next up another road trip to take on the UTSA Road Runners in San Antonio.

That was a good run for A&M. Not sure why they didn't give you the #1 nod last Monday. Even with the lone loss you still deserve it today IMO. It's not like you've played Little Sisters of the Poor.

Just checked today's new D1Baseball poll. A&M moved up 2 spots to #3 behind LSU and Vandy. Last weeks 1 and 2 (Florida and TCU) dropped to 4 and 5 respectively.

Nobody is a given in the SEC. I betcha that Rice game on April 7th is gonna be a sell out.

Rice would sell it out all by themselves.

Regarding your "nobody is a given in the SEC" reply, I don't know what that had to do with my comment. Only 5 of your wins were against SEC opponents. Nobody is a "given" in the PAC, Big 12, or ACC either. They all play good baseball.

SEC is the premier baseball conference undoubtedly in my eyes. That being said, the PAC 12 is brutal. Not an easy conference to play in.

Help yourself on the conference
:nutswing:

The SEC has good teams spread out over time. They are not good teams year in and year out. They have their ups and downs like every baseball team has. A lot of that is due to the MLB draft into AA and AAA clubs.

Come late May the SEC's got to prove themselves nationally in Regionals, Super Regionals, and the CWS. That "every SEC team is a good team" tends to come up suspect.

I'd much rather play an SEC mid-major OOC slate than a PAC 12 mid-major OOC slate. Those mid-majors out west give the big boys all they can handle on the regular.

"Drew Rasmussen became the first Oregon State pitcher to throw a perfect game in Oregon State's 3-0 victory over Washington State.

According to the Pac-12 media guide, it's just the fourth perfect game in league history, and first since Washington State's Joe McIntosh in 1973.

Rasmussen, a freshman, faced 27 batters, recorded 10 strikeouts and needed just 103 pitches to shut down the Cougars. The Beavers (17-5 overall, 3-2 Pac-12 Conference) played perfect defense behind him..."

Not disagreeing for most teams in the SEC. I'd rather face Tulane than Cal State Fullerton on a mid-week game. You can toss UC Irvine in their as well along with a large chunk of the teams on the West, but Louisiana is a deep baseball state and has a lot of decent competition. To say the SEC isn't better at the top on a regular basis with LSU, Vandy, South Carolina, and Mississippi State/Florida (most years) is flat out untrue. Look no further than the amount of teams the SEC produces each year in Omaha to prove that point. The SEC has reached the title 7 straight years. SEC has produced 16 Omaha teams in that time while the PAC 12 has produced 8. Numbers don't lie. You can say nut sling all you want but these are the hard cold facts.
