South Carolina losing to Illinois State isn't a huge shocker. South Carolina lost most of their major scoring from a year ago. Both of these teams are looking to replace major pieces, and Illinois State won in a close one. It happens.

I haven't done much research on this year so all I know is South Carolina was good last year, made the final 4 and they have a great coach...Illinois State I recall got screwed by the committee and left out of the tournament. Really no idea what they had left

Illinois State didn't get screwed. You can't expect to make the NCAA Tournament as an at-large team without any quality wins.

South Carolina lost three of their best players from a year ago. While South Carolina made a great run last year, its important to remember they were a #7 seed.

Problem for Illinois State isn't the resume, it's more the fact that it sucks these days that it's impossible for programs like that to face quality opponents without a ridiculous and expensive travel schedule that takes a toll on a team with less depth and causes them to take a few bad losses and miss the tournament anyways like Monmouth did the other year

I don't disagree. They still weren't screwed by the committee last year. Want to make the NCAA Tournament? Don't lose to San Francisco (#100 RPI/#111 kenpom), Murray State (#231 rpi/#197 kenpom) and Tulsa (#139 rpi/#144 kenpom) in the non-conference schedule. You can't make the NCAA's as a mid-major with that type of OOC resume.

Screwed by the committee was a dumb statement on my part. Like I said they were in reality screwed by the scheduling issue plaguing most mid-majors and squeezing more and more of them out of the tournament.

Half an hour until Iowa State and Tulsa tip-off to find out which one of them wants to face us!

I don't even know which one I'd want to play honestly....seems like both could only hurt our cause for an At-Large tournament bid at this point seeing that Iowa State has lost to both Missouri and Milwaukee. Tulsa lost to Lamar which might even be worse...does anyone know? Any Lamar fans out there with more information on them?

Hutchinson had a hard fall and possibly got a concussion, we're doomed if he does

it already doesn't look good because we can't buy a shot

also it definitely seems like the announcers don't know crap about us, they say general comments about us but mostly talk about Iowa State

without him we are just lost offensively just heaving up the first shot there is

Realistically we have to win the Mountain West tournament to make the ncaa tournament now, we don't get enough opportunities to get big wins to lose games like this
