Great news. If only Joe Buck would follow his lead.

Joe Buck is much worse than Tim McCarver IMO, if that's possible. I have the MLB package and watch parts/whole of hundreds of baseball games every year and there are so many entertaining duos out there. I especially liked Len and Bob for the Cubs.

McCarver announces his retirement before the season so everyone will kiss his ass all season and tell him how much he will be missed. :lame:

The World Series will be brutal to watch, I will be thankfull for the mute button!

A good poll would be "Will he cry?"

The long lead announcement of retirement is so over-rated. I'd like to see some draft pick make a comment about retirement at his signing press conference. Something like "I'd like to thank the fans of XYZ team, but I'd like to take this time to announce my retirement from sport in 14 years".

McCarver is a dipshit and Buck is a egomaniac. I think Buck actually has a "I have to be the only one on camera to start a broadcast" clause in his contract.

Same here.

I am a bit bias but Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez, and Ron Darling are a real good group to call a game. Keith is the weakest of the bunch but does have some entertaining throw-ins every once in a while.

Michael Kay is up there as one of the worst too in my opinion. It has nothing to do with it being the Yankees I just think he is terrible.

I just can't wait to watch more games. Only a hands count away.

Oh man, you could have joined in on the Rangers board bashing of the guys we had before last year. The main culprit is still there, and your Chargers got the other half of the equation.

Just the country-bumpkin attitude our announcers take is embarrassing.

Man, you have no idea how excited I am. I love most sports but not like MLB. This is when I know how much I love baseball. :yahoo:

And my team gets to kick it all off. Sadly, I don't pay for cable so I can't watch most games (on TV at least). I still hate the MLB package blackout rules, but am too lazy to do all the IP masking stuff since I would be watching mainly on my phone. If I want to watch on the computer I just hit one of the sports streaming sites.

Baseball is my favorite. I agree with you that although I love the other sports nothing compares.

There aren't many things the Mets do better than the Yankees but announcing, both TV and Radio, the Mets are far superior to the Yanks.

I agree. Listening to Howie on the radio when the Mets are on Fox is a blessing.

We (Mets fans) are certainly spoiled.

You guys realize that Ron Darling will be considered to replace Tim McCarver, right?
