Thoughts on the season so far?

Not hearing much discussion here from my fellow Chargers fans. I'll start.

The Good:

* We have outplayed every team in 10/12 quarters;
* Rivers has played well in 11/12 quarters;
* Rushing D looks fantastic. 3 straight pro bowl backs (Foster, McCoy, Johnson) and nobody can top 90yds;
* Pass protection has looked much better (more on that in the bad);
* While I have some complaints, I like our coaching staff.

The Bad:

* Horrible decision to cut Max Starks. Why could we not use depth at our most important position?
* Horrible play calling to end the Tennessee game. Wisenhunt cost us that one.
* Are Vincent Brown and Keenan Allen even still playing for us?
* 1-2 record to start is disappointing.

The 2-2 record is just about what I expected before the season, perhaps even 1-3. I should be happy but because of how we lost the 2 games I am not. This team could easily be 4-0.

That said, I do believe they are overachieving. Rivers has been fantastic, but injuries have been a killer, and the team lacks depth. My preseason guess was 6-9 wins. Looking at the schedule we should be closer to 9, and could be in the wildcard hunt. But regardless of the wildcard this team is not a true playoff contender yet.
