It's exactly what I said when I first saw the trailers.

Seems like 90% of these alien/ET type movies involving space revolve around this plot. Someone accidentally gets infected and it becomes a survival thriller from that point on.

Just a side note, but one thing that might be getting overlooked with this movie is it is written by the same guys that wrote Deadpool & Zombieland. The Director is the guy that did Safe House (2012) with Denzel & Reynolds.

Kind of a strange combination for what looks like a more serious-toned sci-fi thriller. You would think the writers will inject some comic relief, but the trailer doesn't seem to indicate any.

I will actually agree with this. Carpenter's remake IMO was actually better than Alien. I watch Alien from time to time, it's one of the best horror movies ever made. That said, The Thing outdoes it and the concept is absolutely terrifying.

Aliens? You can see/hear them, shoot it. Yes they are ferocious killing machines, but at least you know what you're up against. The Thing?

Alien is great, I will generally watch it if it's on, or from time to time watch it online. The Thing? I'll plug that mother fucker in any day. There's a reason it's one of the few videos I have saved on my hard drive.

Rented it in 4k hdr blu ray, great cgi everybit as real as the actors, good story, scary ending. 4 of 5 stars... only detractions are that its to much like Alien and not scientifically sound...

That was actually the SECOND thing I thought of when I saw the thread title. The first was the TV show about the cop who was sentanced to life but was cleared due to police corruption.

But I think this thread is in reference to the sci-fi movie with Ryan Reynolds and Iris Ilba.

I looked it up, and yea, it was Bakare.

Dayum, those two are totally switched at birth. Not a “Black actor” thing as you put it. Just a “two dudes who look fucking identical” thing.

Kinda like Jake Gyllanhal and Tobey Maguire or Amy Adams and Isla Fisher.
