ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) Broncos right tackle Orlando Franklin limped off the
field early during Monday's practice with an injured hip and did not return.

Coach John Fox did not specify which hip and said the severity of the injury
wasn't known.

Franklin went down on the first play of team drills. While trainers attended
to him, the offense and defense changed directions so they could keep practicing
while Franklin was down on the field.

This is really getting ugly. Hope this one isn't too serious.

From reports I have read it sounds like it is a bruised hip. My guess is they will sit him for a couple of weeks as a precautionary

Good news from Dove Valley today in Franklin has no damage to his hip and is just considered day to day. He won't play in the game Thursday but should be fully healed up by start of the season when we actually need him.

Starting to wonder though if sitting Peyton for this first game might be in his best interest considering only 2 actual starters will be playing on the OL. No reason to take a chance with Peyton at this point. We know what he can do.

It's not likely Peyton would play more than 1 drive in the first game anyway, so sitting him entirely would make sense.

the way things are going with o-line, they should hold him out till wk 4 preseason or wk 1 reg. he can still get quality reps at practice. its not like he`s a rook and needs live gm exp ya know
