All I keep hearing his how bad Alabama is going to throttle OU...I personally think it will be a better game than people think, typically when The Sooners are this big of underdogs they come out and play on fire...besides the Baylor game...we won't get into that lol. This game will be a good measuring stick for where our program is going into the future.

2. Establish drives (limit 3 and outs)
3. Play mistake free football
4. Good Play Calling
5. Well executed risks (Fake punt, fake field goal etc...)
6. DEFENSE
7. DEFENSE

I agree with your list but I think Bama has all the pressure on them to win. This may work in OUr favor if we can take advantage of some mistakes.

meh, let him, who cares. their one shot at glory came against an OU team they were ranked higher than and favored over. their best team ever beat an OU team that would not even rank in the top 25 all time OU teams.

LOL I was at that game in Glendale. Your talking about the OU team that had a wide receiver playing qb, right? The OU team that shouldn't even been playing in a BCS game if Texas didn't get beat by Texas Tech and choked their way out of the Big 12 Championship game? That OU team?

1. Do we know if Knight will be well? I don't think Bell can do it in this one. At least not for 4 quarters. He is more of a relief pitcher.
2. We have the legs for this. Wish Williams hadn't been a dumb ass and got booted. Williams/Clay/Finch/Ford looks better on paper.

9. The intangibles.....penalties, turnovers, nerves/pressure. We're def in the better position in regard to expectations. I don't know of anybody outside of the Sooner Nation that has us winning this. This could work for us. Bedlam was similar.

I honestly think OU has a decent chance to win. Alabama is not nearly so good as they have been in the past few seasons. And OU just came off a huge win over OSU.

All we had to do was win, and it was a National Championship for us.

If I remember correctly Holtz suspended six players before that Orange Bowl. I read a few years back that Thomas Lott said the night before the game he and a few other players were out well into the early morning hours doing coke...a lot of it.

The only question I have is how do we match up with Bama man for man? I can see OU having some advantages in the speed department their WR's versus our CB's. I can see Bama having a big advantage with their O-line versus our D line. Good news is they don't run a lot of power game anymore. The do a lot of zone blocking which allows for the faster man to get off the block and make a play. I think the game hinges on how well OU's O-line does against Bama's D-line. If the Sooners can get a running game going and not depend totally on the pass they could be in this thing. If it is just straight drop back and pass because Bama is so far ahead (see Baylor & Texas) then OU is cooked.

Win or lose this game will be fun to watch. More than anything, I want to see the fire back in the belly of our coach. We seen a little bit during bedlam. I hope it continues and into next year....
