It's early, but if you've been a Sox fan for any length of time, you're already thinking here we go again.

Starting lineup today:

1. Eaton .305
2. Rollins .217
3. Abreu .190
4. Frazier .206 <was barely .200 as of last nite>
5. Cabrera .304
6. Lawrie .286
7. Jackson, A .176
8. Garcia .146
9. Avila .185

Notice anything 'familiar'??? :L

This team would easily be well below .500 without our usually solid pitching.

When nearly half of your starting lineup cannot (or is hovering) reach the Mendoza line by the 15 game mark, something is really amiss.

I know good pitching wins ball games, but this lineup is ridiculous in how they're underachieving at this point.

totally agree. 6 regulars BELOW .220! it's unlikely the pitching will maintain this level of play but i don't think it's unlikely at all that four of those six might never get any better. avila won't, rollins certainly won't, garcia looks like shit and jackson can't hit either. it's going to be another long summer. and btw ... it wouldn't surprise me if frazier didn't hit much higher either.

Ya it has been frustrating. It looks like Frazier is turning it around. He has looked good at the plate the last 3 days.

I know being a Sox fan means beaing a glass half empty type, but really? Best pitching in the AL by far so far, starters AND pen, best record in the AL. Given a choice of great pitching not so good hitting or the reverse, you take the pitching every time. 2005 was pitching dominated remember.

Those guys won't all hit under .200 all year, guys like Abreu and Frazier will hit. Garcia maybe not, he may be a bust, Rollins does suck now, but those 2 will hit. Stanton was hitting .193 until today, McCutchen is hitting .213.

Chillax. No one wants to enjoy a great start to a season?

Jesus guys... We have the most wins in the American League.

There is so much going right with this team. Give me a break with the melodrama...

Melodrama?

By pointing out that half our starting bats are flirting with .200?

It's just a familiar observation of a snapshot in the season ... one a Sox fan has seen repeated time & again. That's all it was.

There's just nothing but negativity, with most people on this board. It's completely silly. This team is playing great baseball, and the fact they're doing this with Abreu hitting .170 and Frazier just getting going is even more encouraging. IMO
