Life is what you've made of it.
1st 4: Alabama, Oklahoma, Clemson, USC
2nd 4: Penn St, , Oklahoma, Washington, Wisconsin
3rd 4: Georgia, Michigan, Ohio St, Florida St
Analysis : Clemson made the biggest impression last week. Alabama may have a new challenger with Clemson joining Oklahoma as teams that could potentially beat them. Oklahoma St is the team on the rise. Their game with TCU is their 1st real test. This week will be a huge ratings shakeup. Expect a lot of upsets.
Most surprising: Mississippi St, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt, join TCU as the most surprising. Wake Forest is hiding in the background for at least another week. Maryland is another team in the mix at least until the start Big 10 Play.
Most disappointing: Baylor, Texas A&M, Ohio State, all long poor on the field. OSU is still in playoff contention but would have to run the table. Tennessee has joined the crowd which seems to be almost an annual event.
Heisman Trophy: Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson, Mason Rudolph, Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold
Analysis: Still really close as loses become more important. Mayfield appears to be the best bet at the moment, because Oklahoma may have the easiest schedule of the 5. Rosen was great again but UCLA lost. Mason Rudolph is coming up fast and the Bedlam Game could be the biggest college game of the year for reasons of the playoffs and the Heisman trophy.
Big 3 Games of the Week: A ton of games matching undefeated teams, although no real super game. A lot of games could have been selected for my top 3.
Oklahoma St-TCU; Washington-Colorado; Georgia-Mississippi St. Georgia does not play Alabama this year so this could be the key to a potential SEC East or even an undefeated season. Washington-Colorado will establish a strong playoff contender either way. Both have looked good and the winner could potentially make the playoffs. If Oklahoma St is going to challenge Oklahoma this is a must win. They’ve looked great all year as has TCU, but Mason Rudolph should be the difference.
Big games next 2 weeks: California-Oregon, California-Washington, Clemson-Virginia Tech, Maryland-Ohio St, Michigan-Michigan St. Lot of other games could make it depending on the outcome of this weeks games.
Analysis: No super clashes, but a lot of games that will eliminate pretenders.
