The Resurgence of Shocker Baseball???

After canning Hall of Fame coach Gene Stephenson for declining wins and off-field antics, we lured Arkansas's top recruiter in Todd Butler to Wichita State with a healthy (foolish) 7 yr. contract valued at $2M+.

The last 4 years have been miserable for Shocker fans who'd become accustomed to 40 win seasons year in and year out. Todd's teams really stunk the place up for a myriad of reasons. Nobody on planet earth wanted him to remain for this season but we still owed him $900k on his contract and Wichita State couldn't stomach a million dollar buyout for a baseball coach. So they rolled the dice...

So far it's looking like Yahtzee as the Shockers have been looking like their old selves. Everybody is holding their breath though as this feels too much like fools gold. One thing I will say about Todd Butler though; his recruiting has been as outstanding as his and his assistant's coaching has been sub-par.

We're currently ranked No. 20 in the D1Baseball poll, No. 30 in the Collegiate Baseball poll, No. 20 in the USA Today Coaches poll, No. 20 in the NCBWA poll, and 10th in the RPI. We're 5-4 against the top-50 and 7-5 against the top-100. We've got heavy bats on this club, solid weekend pitching, and a future first rounder in Alex Bohm. Things are going well for us at the moment.
