It has been reported that Cuban pitcher Gonzalez may not be ready to penetrate the starting lineup to open the season. He will probably need time in the minors. So Amaro figures that he can trade for a starter by dangling Brown. Our biggest weakness is the starting pitching. So that means trading Lee or Hamels would be a dumb move by Amaro. Amaro says that he wants to compete now,and that would go against that theory. Seems our GM is once again without a clue.

I could see that, but even then, they still need another starter regardless if MAG is ready or not

Trading Revere or Brown means both desperation and confusion. Two experienced young guys each on the verge of real stardom. One is the perfect leadoff hitter at .300, the other whose power has just reached 27 HRs. Both are needed along with Asche and Ruf to balance a lineup of older regulars. Revere provides leadoff spark and he's capable of getting 200 hits; the loss of Brown would create a serious power vacuum.
