Management went out and added more pieces to the offense in the off-season and basically neglected the defense. They added draft picks but decided not to sign any defensive FA's.



But, we should win this weekend with Denver starting Paxton Lynch at QB.....WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I'd make fun of your Sean Smith (awful) signing but he'd totally still be a starter on the Chiefs if the Raiders cut him

Lack of any kind of secondary has been killer all year long. After Mack our defense takes a dramatic plunge towards mediocracy and that's being nice.

Well their recent history of defensive FA signings hasn't really gone as planned for them. It wasn't for a lack of trying over the last couple of seasons. Players like Bruce Irvin, Aldon Smith, Justin Tuck, Curtis Lofton, Lamar Woodley, etc etc have all underwhelmed. Granted these signings weren't sure-thing acquisitions to begin with. Maybe they are tired of getting burnt and are moving towards the homegrown route?

I think they are beginning to invest in their secondary though. Karl Joseph & Obi Melifonwu are young but tremendous talents. If they can go after Trumaine Johnson, or Malcom Butler this offseason they could seriously bolster their secondary.

Hell there's even some savvy vets they could bring in for leadership & locker-room presence like Vontae Davis or even Darrelle Revis is still wanting to play.

JDR looked good but if we struggle the rest of this season, he needs to be on the hot seat going into next season. He did a good job the last couple seasons but this is a "What have you done for me lately League."

Its weird. I thought that was a good signing but he hasn't fit into our defense at all and looked lost.

they have one defensive player, one great offensive lineman (whos hurt), and a failing stud at WR.

Yeah, the Oakland defense had a lot of ? marks coming into this season. Can't see a new DC fixing that.

Lynch might look like a stud. Our defense allows QB's to complete 72.3% of their passes, easily worst in the NFL.

To put in this in perspective.......Drew Brees leads the League with a completion rate of 71%.

So, everybody looks great vs our pass defense.

We fired Norton but it's clearly the lack of execution imo.
