Kobe is ridiculously talented, there's no doubt about that, however it just seems odd that this " me too" crowd gave him an Oscar and and just curious if there was any backlash about it.

Haven't seen any backlash about it, but it was being questioned a bit on the radio when I was driving in this morning.

The only reason I think they may have been quiet is because Kobe's was a 1 time thing (as far as anyone knows) whereas the others have multiple offenses spread out over decades.

Be careful about calling it a one time thing to those who are passionate about it. I'm not being serious, but obviously you know that they would take you as saying that everyone gets one time. But I also think that the fact that he is unlikely to receive another award for the Oscars, may have played into it.

Or they may not of even thought about it. Yes, they put the focus on Times Up, but the Oscar is supposed to be secretive until opening it up even though there are ways to manipulate the award. (There was an episode on "Adam Ruins Everything" that talked about how Oscars are chosen.) I suppose they could keep him out of the building those who are accused or convicted but then the audience would be empty of men at least. OK, that was a joke.

I also said "as far as we know." Which is true, we only know about the one incident and no other women have come forward with accusations.

Agree that the fact that he is unlikely to ever even be nominated again, let alone win, may be a factor as well.

Fun fact: when Kobe made his rap album he refused to let anyone write his rhymes for him. That was probably a mistake, but it does speak to the kind of person he was.
