2015 was Richt's last season at UGA.

We've still got a ways to go to top Bama, but we were never gonna beat them by outscheming them with lesser talent.

Maybe
The enthusiasm is always intense the first few years

Kirby might crash and burn, but as it stands now, I love him.

Went my entire life without ever seeing UGA play in a NCG. Kirby's second year, we were in OT in the NCG with a chance to win.

outofyourmind has a point. but maybe Kirby learned from the best and can maintain it at this level.

Damn, now I feel old. I remember that night. Watching them carry Coach Dooley off the field. Knowing I had just won $100 bet with a coworker that said no way Georgia beats Gods team

Wanna feel even older? My parents were 8 years old when that game was played(they were 18 when I was born)

I get to hear about it all the time though. Buck Belue is the mid day co host for my sports talk radio station.

That's alright. I was 8 years old when I saw my first college
game in person. Syracuse and Jim Brown routed Colgate at
Archbold Stadium.

That's all right . I was eight years old when I watched King Leonidas and the Spartans take on the visiting Xerxes and the Persians. The Spartans were under scholarship limits but fought hard to defend their home turf but the visiting Persians had to too much with their deep roster and outlasted the Spartans. Epic battle but getting out of the stadium was a bitch.

My first game was a bitch to watch as it was a night game. But then the PA announcer said “Let there be light” and it was so much better.

Ole Miss and Auburn have. They have so much talent they get content and over confident.

What you won’t beat them doing is trying to play their game and to their strength. Kirby found that out.

But seriously, we all know Richt is not a top tier HC and that he's been a perennial underachiever but he's much better than the guy we had before and whether he wins a Natty or not (most likely he won't), he will leave this program in much better shape than it was when he got here.

It's hard for me to say Kirby has come closer to a National Championship than Richt. Georgia fans seem quick to forget 2012 where IMO they were basically just a few yards away from a National Championship. Kirby was "in the game" and yet it was the same exact opponent and the same exact result.

You may say Kirby took it to overtime, and sure. But the reality is this - in 2012 Georgia was still in the game late and was going toe to toe with Alabama. Meanwhile, Georgia last year was just trying to hang on. If Tua starts the game, Georgia is probably toast early. And if the kicker makes that easy and should be makeable FG, it's not going into OT either.

So, I'd say they both made it pretty close to the same. Kirby is killing it in recruiting but that's not a surprise.

But overall I'm going to give to Richt for 1 big reason:

He did it without an indoor practice field.

:heh:
