Yeah, no shit.

So, what was the point? You're pointing out Favre had average receivers just like a lot of QBs have. Why point out Rison, he literally played like 7 games with Favre. It's hard to argue against the numbers he put up.

Marino had 8 seasons where he threw 15+ INT’s.
Favre had 13 seasons where he threw 15+ INT’s. He also played about 4 more seasons.

Marino had 4 seasons where he threw 30+ TD’s.
Favre has 9 seasons where he threw 30+ TD’s.
If you're trying to make the argument that Favre is better than Marino, follow it up with one about Carmelo Anthony being better than MJ

You want me to break down the process I went thru prior to pressing Post Reply?

Hehad one great receiver and some other good ones. It's pretty straight forward.

I don't really give a fuck about his numbers. If you'd like to prop him up go right ahead.

He's not. He's just illustrating not having Favre in the top 10 is a bad take. And odd that you would use that comparison with the Super Bowl total going to Favre (no i'm not saying Favre is better). Difference between Marino and Favre is a few QBs when the difference between MJ and Melo is at least 50 players.

You guys can love his selfish play all you want.

I don't.

And I won't.

Antonio Freeman, Donald Driver and Andre Rison were pretty good. Not too many QBs play with multiple HOFers.

The dude with by far the longest consecutive starts streak playing through countless injuries that would have sat many out is selfish? That's a new one.

There is a big difference between Marino and Favre. Favre won 1 title, but he had the best team at least 3-4 times.

96 and 97. Which other years? They were never better than your Cowboys before that. Then in the early 2000s only argument you can make is 2002. 2001 Packers were very good but the Rams were clearly better. 2002 you have to go with that Bucs defense. If you want to consider the past the prime years the 2007 Packers were projected to suck coming off a 4-12 and 8-8 season. Dallas was also better in the regular season. The Vikings team was nothing before he got there. Them and the Saints were basically neck and neck. I would still say the answer is 2.

That's not the selfish Im talking about. Chucking passes all Willy nilly is more what I mean.

But he did hold a team hostage four or five offseasons in a row.

OK, let's say you are right and it's two times plus the one that they won...and a couple of others where they were right there...if Marino were their QB, they would have won multiple. Marino is in the same boat as Aaron Rodgers, while AROD did win one, the Packers have basically wasted a decade of an all time QB by not putting a team around him. ARod will end up with the same number of rings as Nick Foles. That's a waste

Well that's an entirely different convo lol. I'm hopeful with the changes at GM and defensive coordinator will put them back on the right track. Rodgers still has plenty of time at 34 to get one more. My favorite stat is that the Packers have given up an AVERAGE 36 POINTS in Rodgers' playoff losses. Brady is now 0-2 in his CAREER when the Pats have allowed 33 plus. It's only happened twice in 17 years and the Packers average giving up 36 lol.

Yeah, sort of. It's hard to just go off Super Bowls. I would say there were 10-12 teams that would have won it all this year if they had Rodgers. That's how I felt about Marino every year

Nope never said that, it is more about Marino being overvalued in these drafts and Favre not getting the respect he should. I put Marino at the 3-4 range. Favre at 7.

Marino had some very talented teams. And his numbers and Favre’s numbers are very comparable. His couple primes is most likely the difference, but I don’t see a huge difference like most.

Look at Marino's numbers vs the other QB's of the mid 80's. Rules have changed so much, you have to compare vs contemporaries to judge stats. If Marino played today, he'd be 75% and 5500/45-50TD's

Rules didn't change until 2005. Most of Favre's career was before then.
