So what you are guys are saying is... Danny Ainge is a genius?
Nay, a GOD??

Odd about people apologizing for Lonzo's poor game -- and for some reason saying Fultz "looked bad."

I thought Fultz looked fine for his first game. (except for that horrible free throw shoots -- but Lonzo was 0-2 also) Fultz showed a nice mid-range offensive game and played both on the ball and off of it. He shot above 50% -- and scored 10 points in 18 minutes. (or 20ppg per 36 minutes) And had a good block.

I think we should hold off judging the young guys for a while.

Yeah. People making larger judgments of how good any of these kids are based on 20 minutes of real basketball are being a little ridiculous.

Malik Monk was 1-9 from the field.
Frankie Ntilikina got 0 points.

Rookie PGs are going to struggle. They always do. Even the great ones.

Dennis Smith looked good but you can be pretty confident that he will struggle as well. It's almost unavoidable.

Hope to see a better performance off Lonzo for the game against the Suns.

I think he's overwhelmed and gimp.

But, he looked like he has zero athleticism and average.

It was hidden better because of Simmons, Embiid, Covington being sensational.

On a separate note, I didn't like how Washington played.

Wall doesn't need to be Westbrook.

Porter looks ready to take the next step and Oubre is gonna be a stud.

John has weapons, use them.

I agree.

Wall's game last night is a product of all the attention Russ for last year. I really hope it isn't a common thread this year, because that isn't his game at all.

I agree about not judging them.

But, as crazy as this may sound, Fultz's performance last night is far more alarming to me than Ball, Monk, or any other rookie. It has nothing to do with his numbers. Dude was supposed to be a good shooter and his FT attempts look worse than DeAndre Jordan's. I mean they were not close.

If he is hurt, he needs to sit out. If he isn't hurt, he needs to learn to shoot. Fultz is explosive, but he isn't DSJ. Without a jumper he will not be a successful pro. I would bet on that.

Watching Fultz again tonight... I caught the first Philly game, too... and one thing I've noticed is that he has had all kinds of trouble getting his shot up when he gets to the basket.

Over and over again I've seen him get his shot blocked at the rim.

Lonzo went from Patrick Beverly to Eric bledsoe. I expected him to play better but if he can do that to PG's in this league who dont play defense (which is most of them), wholly shit.

Lonzo obviously better tonight. Gee, any difference in defenders on him? Lonzo can be good but dude's a rookie.

Name another rookie with a similar stat line in the last, say 10 years, within the first two games.
