I was curious.

she was drunk
he should have just walked away and not talked to her
some folks say "she hit him first" ok, that's true. but it's like, hell no bitch, I"m a thug, wham.

with this guy, burfict, and jones on the same team it will be like a circus.

Of course Joe Mixon is a Bengal hahaha.

In all seriousness he's my 1B running back in this class. Fournette and Mixon. And I think he'll be a beast. An absolute monster. He's a deplorable human being but he just made the Bengals A LOT better on offense.

After watching him at OU for several years I think he's the best running back in the draft. I also think he's been babied his whole life. He will need someone to watch over him to make sure he stays out of trouble. It's not just the Molitor situation. He also had an incident with campus security over a parking ticket after Molitor.

He came to the right place. The babying will continue..... Marvin won't even apologize for his transgressions, he'll just pretend he didn't see them and then scream at the media for reporting on them. Our favorite team is an absolute embarrassment to the city of cincinnati and hamilton county..... Making matters worse, they're basically stealing money from tax payers, watching the city's infrastructure fall all around them, and openly antagonizing their fans while hiring thugs. Wish I could say that I won't watch, but I probably will.... I'm part of the problem.

I hear ya. God knows I agree with you. At this point though, the Bengals are nothing but entertainment value to me. I'm no longer morally or emotionally invested in the team. They've operated the same way for almost three decades. They will never change. I'm just gonna sit back and watch the fireworks.

All of that said, they got maybe the steal of the draft in Joe Mixon. He's got All-Pro potential. The offense is going to look totally different next year. If Ross and Mixon end up being as good as advertised, maybe they'll stumble into a playoff win by accident.

Maybe he can find Jesus to save his life, because this type of player is an all-pro type talent.

Take this post, throw in something about Mike Brown buttfucking the city with the stadium deal, and it may as well be our board banner.

LOL! This is where we need a good artist. I think Mike Brown buttfucking the city should be the team logo.

I just saw his interview on the NFLN and he came across as humble and contrite. If it's in anyway an act I was fooled by it. It makes me feel much more comfortable with the pick.

As far as the incident itself..
I don't even want to get into the moral aspect of hitting a woman. It's something that should never be condoned under any circumstance, but domestic violence unfortunately happens all the time. I don't think it should have ended Ray Rice's career. If it's habitual, yes. An isolated incident then no.
Now to actually follow a random woman into a restaurant, let a situation escalate and then strike her hard enough to break a bone in her face.. beyond the moral aspect is monumental stupidity. My hunch is that he isn't going to have any off the field issues but lets hope he can't be goaded into bad mistakes on the field either.

Also wonder what this means for the backfield. Does Bernard finally get the Darren Sproles role of a moveable chess piece? I hope so. If Mixon is even half as good as the hype maybe Jeremy Hill becomes a goal line/ short yardage specialist.

This just means Hill's time in Cincinnati is done. He will play out his contract this year, we will get a decent compensation pick for losing him because of his TD production, and Mixon with a backup of Bernard is our HB situation. I am sure we might draft a RB next year late in the draft 6th or 7th, or we may just pick one up in collage FA next year. This year is set with Mixon, Bernard, Hill and Peerman and a FB of Hewitt.

Hill probably leaves after the year but right now all three are on the roster and he should have some type of a role.

As far as Bernard, I know Mike Brown does weird things out of loyalty but paying a RB over 5 million per year to be nothing more than a backup makes no sense. Route running and pass catching are supposed to be strengths of Mixon's game so Bernard subbing for him on 3rd down isn't an option like it was with Hill.
I think Bernard would thrive if used creatively like Sproles or how the Panthers plan on using their first two picks this year.

Hill will do better as well if he's not forced to be the work horse.

they should tear it up in the pre-season.

Why are people acting like this incident happened 2 weeks go? It was in 2014. If we went to jail he'd probably be out already anyway.

Yeah it was a pretty despicable act, but it seems like he has taken the high road ever since and tried to move on and be a better person. Its not he like he is walking around saying to everyone he meets "hey I'm Joe Mixon, the guy who knocked out a girl on tape." Instead he gets grilled on it every day by any and all media member who comes within earshot. And (like was discussed in another post) they all talk about 2nd chances, but really they are just trying to bait him into doing/saying something dumb.

In the end, people aren't mad that he got drafted, they are made that he got drafted by the Bengals. Because what will they talk about if he stays out of trouble and becomes a top5 RB?

This^^ I absolutely agree. The media is butthurt the Bengals picked him. He's gonna be a stud and everyone knows it. Therefore the Bengals will reap the benefits of his talent and that's a no go.

If he got drafted by the Patriots, Steelers or Cowboys they would be praising the move. All we'd hear is how great those organizations are and how their winning tradition would rub off on him and blah blah blah.

The narratives never change.

The truth about Ray Rice is that his career was ended because his production was down. Nobody wanted to take the PR gamble on a guy that didn't have a good year before getting caught on tape. The same isn't true for Mixon - He's a big time talent. The idea, floated by Schefter and the media, that only 4 teams would take him is absolutely ludicrous..... I'm guessing that about 25 or more teams would have taken him if he would have dropped another few rounds.
