I am hearing a lot of talk about how this team will be improved record wise next year. Yet I sit here and wonder....who exactly are they going to beat in their division?

Houston has slapped Bortles around. Their offense is not better than either Tennessee or Indy and neither is the QB. Their defense may be second best in division but defense will not beat a team with a good offense and improved defense. If anyone is vulnerable it could be the texans whose offense is probably the worst of the four upon the notion Bortles improves.

Honestly I see a max of 6 wins and that's including beating Ten, LAR, LAC, Cle, and Hou/Ind. I just don't think they even win all of those games. Forget beating the ravens, sweeping the colts, sweeping the titans, and winning in places like Arizona lol. Jacksonville picked a bad time to try to improve. Will they be patient with Coughlin?

The Talent level, especially on defense is legit

This is an eminently winnable division

Fournette is very key to their success, because they need to do whatever they can to limit Bortles' exposure, I do agree this is not a very good QB

The no nonsense Tom Coughlin running the ship now, I have a feeling this team isnt far off

As a closet Jags fan. I'm praying to JEEBUS that Leonard and Coughlin can right this ship this ship.

This Defense is too talented to be a 5-11 team. But with Blake " i got a extremely hot Girl Friend and no talent" Bortles at QB so who knows????

If I were Jacksonville I'd be calling KC every single day until I pried Smith from them . The Chiefs clearly are going a different direction but Smith is a perfect fit it Jacksonville . A really good young D, a promising young running game , serviceable receivers. A guy like Smith who protects the ball and is smart takes the Jags from 5-6 wins to WC , even division title , contenders

I think that would be a rare lose/lose trade. Mahomes isn't ready this year, Chiefs have zero incentive to tank and the Jaguars need someone a bit younger.

The obvious move is Kaepernick.

I don't hate the idea of Kaep but I don't know if he gives you the short passing game I think the Jags could really use although he does protect the ball. Even in getting Smith it doesn't stop you from getting a younger QB too but it'd be a nice stop gap for a few years

Still would make zero sense for the Chiefs this year, though

I think it depends on what the offer is. Clearly KC is moving on, it's just a question of when and likewise the team obviously doesn't think Smith can take them to a Super Bowl so if you get a nice offer why not pull the trigger now? Sure you may suffer a bit this year but if you don't think you can compete with the New Englands of the world anyway then what's the difference?

They do have the pieces to be competitive but I doubt you see them make the playoffs.

The jags simply arent good enough to compete, even WITH smith.
South is pretty bad. Jags already have the second best D in the fobision and good skill position talent. Bottles is just awful. You may be right but may not
