This is a main reason why I think the preseason should be shortened and maybe extend the season by a game or two. Because now, teams like the Dolphins and Ravens are in a tough spot. What looked like promising seasons don't look so promising now.

Agreed if you are going to get hurt may as well be a regular season game. Coaches don't even want to play anyone anyway so why bother with four preseason games?

Cut down to two or three games. Keep the regular season the same. I think it's long enough, and it fits neatly into 4 months.
