I don't entirely agree, having a good blocking FB is a valuable asset if your best player is your halfback, see Adrian Peterson, he was much better with a FB in front of him so was Terrell Davis.

Depends on the player, I agree with your examples. Now if you have a power RB-fullback type of RB it could be beneficial to get a dynamic RB/pass-catcher. Kinda like what WLK did, but someone other than Deuce lolz

Adrian Peterson’s teams didn’t win that way because it’s obsolete. Not that it’s his fault he would’ve been better off as an old school player. Today’s backs need to be pass blockers and pass catchers

In the late 90s. It was a totally different world. In 2018 I don’t want to build my offense around a running back who can only play with a full back and is worth nothing in the passing game. In the old school fine. Peterson not winning without Favre is kind of the Point. No matter how good he was it didn’t matter.

He didn't need Favre, he just needed a QB that wasn't completely fucking horrible, Hard to win with Travisty Jackson or Christian Laettner!

Still for example I would take Phillip Rivers and an average RB over Adrian Peterson and an average QB in today's NFL. Sure, 20 years ago the answer is different. Nobody is going to win building around a running back anymore unless the back can also be a huge factor in the passing game like a LeVeon Bell, David Johnson, Alvin Kamara, LeSean McCoy type.
