Top 15 matchup separated by 1 possession and these dumbasses want to talk about being neighbors with Chuck Norris and John Malkovich. JFC

Yep, Tatum is almost single-handedly outscoring UVA this half.

Safe to say Duke is back. With the way Duke is playing, they really shouldn't lose until their final game of the year against UNC but I'm sure they'll find a way to lose a game next week on the road against Cuse or Miami.

Jeff Capel must really suck as a coach. I know K is awesome but damn. It's not even remotely close in how the team looks now

Gottfried is gone.

Jeff Goodman seems to be pretty confident that they no chance to land Archie Miller.

While it has been tough to win on the road in the ACC, blowing double digit leads to Syracuse and VT makes zero sense. If they can't close out games against squads that are middle of the road, then how do they expect to do it against teams such as Duke & UNC. The way this team is playing right now, I have no faith in them getting past the round of 32.
Agreed. We have no inside game at all and nobody that has really stepped up into a leadership role other than London (which worries me for next season since he'll be gone).
This game reminded me of a lot of the others lately as well. Played decent and got a lead in the first half and then just played like crap in the 2nd half and ended up losing what was a winnable game. I foresee the same thing happening Saturday night against UNC to end up with a 3 game losing streak.

I don't understand at all why they are having him finish out the season. No matter how you slice it, that's just awkward.

They probably can't get anybody to coach out the season much less hire a new coach. Nobody wants the State job. They practically begged Gottfried to take it.

The entire ACC is rooting for UVA tomorrow night.

A UVA wins likely means we wake up Sunday morning with a 4 way tie for 1st.

I'm interested in what you guys think as possible replacements for Gottfried? The two obvious names that will pop up are Archie Miller at Dayton and Gregg Marshall at Wichita State, but those are probably pipe dreams candidates.

I think guys like Kevin Keatts(UNC-Wilmington) King Rice(Monmouth), Dan Muller(Illinois State) Will Wade(VCU) would all be pretty good candidates for NC State.

Wade is a great fit.

Miller is apparently an NC St alum?

I never discount those chances.

Although their abomination of an AD doesn't help.

Yeah Archie played there in the late 90's. And I agree, certainly helps NC State's case, similar to Dixon and TCU. I just feel like Archie could be in play for bigger jobs. I'm not sure if Ohio State will come open or not after this season, but I could see him taking a job like that. Or maybe he's waiting it out to see what happens at Duke/UNC as I'm sure they'll both be opening up within the next 5 years.

For the most part, the national media believes there is no chance Archie goes to State.

State's last two coaching searches were a mess. Both Fowler and Yow went after big names, ignored the pool of up and coming mid-major coaches (with the exception of Gregg Marshall) and had to hire guys that weren't even in collegiate coaching at the time.

Gregg Marshall did interview for State the last time around, but apparently he was a terrible interview and State passed on him. Yes, they passed on Gregg Marshall for Mark Gottfried.

They need to hit the mid-major route this year. I would give Archie a call and if/when he says no, go after Keatts. Levelle Moton has always interested me, but the ACC is a huge step up from the MEAC.
