I agree with you but I think we both know that this is not going to happen until ole Roy leaves Carolina and Coach K leaves Duke. Then, and only then, will the process begin to perhaps make all four tobacco road schools become more equal.

this appears to be the near consensus on reddit:

Drunk guy punches some random dude, is banging on cars and Jones comes out and punches him. Defense of a bystander that was just assaulted. Drunk guy ends up dying from punch. Jones leaves and doesn't notify the police of what happened. Assuming Jones didn't know the guy died.

Would be shocked if Jones wasn't relieved of his duties.

Terrible PR plus he didn't notify his bosses, when he had ample time (the entire coaching staff was at the big CP3 announcement on Tuesday) to do so. He's gone.

He needs to worry about what the charges get upgraded to when he gets rearrested.

If it was a one punch kill, its probably 2nd degree manslaughter or something like that, more than that who knows all the way up to 2nd degree murder I guess.

Its being ruled a homicide so they must be weighing the district attorney's options with a new charge coming probably Monday. What a sad deal all around.
