Again, the entirely shit FPI matrix has UW as a 50.5% chance of winning against Auburn and outside of that the next lowest is @Oregon which is currently at a 70% chance.

To show how bad their FPI is, they give them equal chances of beating Cal on the road and Stanford at home (75%)

The Spartans have traditionally been overlooked/underrated.....they need better marketing.....perhaps a new fight song:

Too Soon?

Sorry, I thought you were still saying Auburn is their only 'test'.

:suds:
I was admitting I was wrong on Stanford but Auburn is your first real regular season OOC test under the new regime.

At least he didn’t have the top button buttoned. That is pure sociopath material.

Many inside the program are calling it the biggest opening test in team history. It certainly has the potential to either put them on the map, or dump them down a few pegs before most teams have even opened their lunch bags.

Just like many have said about schedules you need to know what they look like at year’s end. In 2016 many, not me, were talking up that great top 15 win over Notre Dame that Michigan State had, it turned out to just be a turd win for a turd team.

I think the program views it as that important for more than just football win/loss implications and rankings. It's a game in the South, on national TV with not a lot of competition so it should get a big audience, and no matter how Auburn finishes, a win against them is still a win against an SEC team. One considered to be upper half at the very least.

Of course I could see UW winning a game like that and then playing flat two weeks later at Utah and losing. I'd say that is more likely than a win against Auburn not looking good later.

If Auburn is needing to reschedule games against mid majors and begging the NCAA to allow wins against an FCS that shouldn’t count in order to be bowl eligible, it won’t be viewed as a momentous win.

Again, the only reason to bring up Utah is their recent play against UW. Their defense is built to limit what UW does well. Their offense normally isn't much to talk about, but strange things happen every damned time we play them.

Now if Purdue is requiring you to have late game heroics every time you play them, then by all means claim it's a challenge.
Goes back to the MWC days when Petersen and Whittingham (and Patterson) got to know each other real well.

To be underrated you have to do something rather spectacular in order earn that title. TCU maybe, WV and KState would be best described as upset specialist because they don't actually win anything.
bcs stuff.jpg

Granted not Natty's but had it not been for the Rose Bowl affiliations with the BIG and PAC we would have one for that BCS bowl too.

USC,LSU, and WVU were rolling in the BCS era.

That feels like foreverago now though, Dana needs to either get his sh*t together or be fired, enough is enough.

Absolutely Wisconsin has a shit show schedule and you will never see anyone defend it.

Same as every year. Play the games on the schedule. What are you going to do? However, if we go 12-0 again this year, it will be a much great achievement than last year. Michigan and Penn St away is enough for me.
