MLB does a lot of fan surveys to see what fans like. What they found out is the younger generation of fans love the HR and could care less about strike outs.

The Reds send a lot of surveys to season ticket holders. Apparently the results must indicate Reds fans don't give a shit about good starting pitching.

It's pretty inconceivable that Scooter isn't going to be in the lineup some where if he continues to hit. He's a bit of a down grade everywhere he plays defensively, but his offense has been making up for it.

It's a beautiful day for baseball and a great opportunity for Homer Bailey to lower his 43.20 ERA. I hope the hell it doesn't go up

As to who should be in the lineup when Cozart comes back, Myself I'll take Scooter. I would also put Cozart in the leadoff spot moving Hamilton to 8th or 9th. At least till he gets his OBP up a lot more than it is now.

But I would bet the farm (if I had one) that, Scooter goes to the bench and Hamilton continues to leadoff.

I think Scoots will still get 12-15 AB a week for awhile. It's a nice situation because it lets the Reds play him several places. I suppose Alcantara needs a few swings too. My hunch is that Cozart will be eased back into the lineup. He will probably show some decline.

I hope he does to. but the Reds have 2 more wins on this home stand than I thought they would have. Playing on houses money now

Back to back wins since the beginning of the month. We're moving up in the world.

This Brewers team was a pretender from the start. Had the Reds done any video work on Thames, they'd have gotten him out.

I don't know if I can call any team in this division a contender. The Brewers are pretty much what I thought they'd be. A few games over .500 and leading what we now know is a lack luster division. They're in the lead because everyone else around them hasn't played any better.

Homer lowered his ERA and my expectations.

I thought he would lower the ERA, but I didn't think my expectations could get any lower.

Votto was 2-2 with a walk and two HR's into the 7th inning last night. Up to that point Nelson had thrown a perfect game against the rest of the team.

So ah... How much we owed Bailey!? Lol.

Jesus. I'd rather have Volquez back than this.

I guess Homer is going to pitch his way into shape. I see no evidence the team is going to modify that, so unless he's just awful every game, expect to see more of this. The Reds are currently incapable of sweeping a series, maybe even incapable of taking 2 of 3 from anybody, certainly won't sustain a 6-game win streak and very likely will begin to see more and more 9-game losing streaks. Nobody they have can prevent that. Price will endure this season, but that's all. I see a team much worse than I had hoped to see.

I believe the Reds only had 3 hits the whole game. I don't know how many walks, maybe three. Nelson is pitching better this year than he has in the past, but that much better.

It's not like the Reds haven't seen Nelson 34 times.
