Beginning in 2004, Neyland Stadium renovations were broken down into five phases, of which three are now complete. Current upgrades have included increasing the seating capacity to its current count of 102,455, second largest in the SEC. Over the past decade, upgrades have included the installation of LED signage, the addition of a brick facade to the exterior of the stadium and elevators replacing scissor ramps that lead up to the west deck. Phase III, the largest of the five, was completed in 2010.

Wow, who knew Cal and Rutgers gave a shit about football. On another note, I saw ASU's renovations last year and their stadium is legit!

Labor cost in Seattle is outrageous. That same stadium could have been done a lot cheaper in the south.

This article seems BS. Doesn't include the Irish's $400 million renovation project which woulda been #2 on the list.

I didn't see that Michigan's stadium looked any different. What a rip off.

Oh, and that Missouri rendering is probably put on hold until we know if they are closing.

It's a bit of a stretch to call what they did to Husky stadium a "renovation." 80+% of it was completely demolished to the ground and rebuilt from scratch with new foundations. Not in phases. The huskies played at Seahawks stadium during the entire project.

The only thing they kept was most of the steel work guts of the north grandstands since it was still considered usable as a set of bones and they planed to keep the facade of Husky Stadium.

I remember the AD at that time said they actually benefited from the fact that when this project was initiated, the country was still in a border line depression when it came to jobs and prices of construction materials, including steel was way lower than normal. They actually did it at exactly the right time.

If they had tried it now? It probably would of cost them 50 to 100 million more in materials and labor costs. There is so much highrise construction going on in the downtown area of Seattle right now, people who are in fields like plumbers and electricians are being paid insane hourly rates. Construction sites are begging them to work on them and many projects are being completed way longer than originally planned when they started.

It wasn't a huge design change ... adding luxury seating, lights and making it ADA compliant. Oklahoma's Stadium is an awesome job ... wish it had a bigger scoreboard.
