To all of those who have served, and to all of those who are serving.
While we all get the luxury of going to the job that we have chosen; coming home to the family that we have chosen to create; living in the place that we have decided to live in; and sit here on a sports message board with full freedom of speech to banter back and forth, cheering for the team of our choice - we should remember we get this because there are people who have died for these rights, or have decided to face possible death in order to preserve these rights.
When WWI ended and treaties were signed, eventually putting this date into effect, President Wilson said:"To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…"
Cheers and Special Thanks!
