Call me pushy, but I think this injury deserves it's own thread.

Sure sounds like Teddy has one hell of a road ahead of him to recover. Sounds like 12-18 months recovery based on some reports this morning. Could be a 2-season injury. But based on some reports, it could have been much, much worse....one report even saying that if the athletic trainers hadn't acted as quickly as they did, he could have lost his leg. I just feel for the kid. I obviously hope he's able to lead this team at some point, but mostly I just hope he has a functioning leg moving forward.

I've had some thoughts on the timetable. A lot of the ligaments healing, is going to be how clean the tear was. If they were frayed, he's going to be on the longer end - If you recall, Peterson's was a clean tear. Now, granted, he's a freak, but I can't think of a better teammate for Teddy right now, to help him through the process. Especially, all the mental grind of rehabbing and trusting it.

I'm assuming there will be no updates, until the swelling has gone down and they can get in there. Just hoping for the best.

As for Shaun Hill, he IS the best option for the short term. He's had a couple of seasons learning Turner's playbook. Where it'll get dicey, (I got a lot of this, listening to former Viking Ben Lieber on KFAN yesterday), is how his body responds in the last 2/3s of the season, as the hits and sacks accumulate, as well as the number of passes thrown.

I guess anything is possible.

My brother had a heart attack and he's like 170. I'm like 250, and have a healthy heart. Turns out, he was eating 2 -3 McDoubles at McDonalds every day.

Who knew?

But does he lift?

statement from Teddy

I want to thank the Wilf Family and the entire Vikings organization, all of my teammates, friends, Eric Sugarman and the amazing Vikings athletic training staff and the fans who have sent me messages and wished me well. Your thoughts and prayers mean a lot to me and have helped me in this difficult time. There are great players and great leaders in our locker room who are going to fight to the end to reach the goals we set for 2016. I will be there mentally, physically and in spirit to support them accomplish those goals.

In order to have a testimony, you have to have a test. I come from amazing DNA, I watched my mom fight and win against breast cancer. We will, as a team, attack my rehab with the same vigor and energy. My faith is strong, my faith is unwavering and my vision is clear. My purpose will not be denied.

I couldn't agree more. Class act.... all the way. :hope: that he's able to recover.

Will he be given his job back after Bradford puts two Lombardi trophies in the Vikings trophy case, or will he have to earn it?

Was it ever disclosed what the "other structural damage" was?
Didn't they say it was a ACL tear and dislocated knee but NO other structural damage was found?

There are doctors (who haven't examined him) that have fears he'll never play again

on positive side, he's walking without crutches

I chuckled at that article. Talk about clickbait. The contents literally were the same as the day it happened.

I had same reaction, but still mentioned it for some reason
