I'm a big Tebow fan, so I'd love this! But do you think there's really a chance of them calling him up to the bigs this year? Even if it is just to sell tickets?
The guy might be the best attraction in the major leagues. He has a huge fan club.

I've heard more rumors about Tebow being a September call-up. Man, I'd love it if that happened! I might even get myself a Tebow Mets jersey! *fingers crossed*

Sports Talk Radio dudes and overweight retired loudmouths are having a bad month with the Tebow surge.

I am not sure why every forgettable former player decided to dump on him.
The current players seem to root for his success.

Tebow is killing it after the call-up.

Yeah, I have no problem with Tebow. It would be cool to see any player from another sport reach the majors, and Tebow seems like a good dude. It's encouraging to see him hitting this well at a higher level after doing pretty meh in low A. Still need to remember he's a lot older than his current competition, but I think he's played a lot better than people thought he would. Especially for someone that hadn't really played any baseball in about a decade.

It will be interesting to see how he does in AA.

Yeah, he is a lot older. But like you said he also hasn't played for a dozen years until last fall. All the other guys have been playing continuously for a while at least.

Columbia and St. Lucie are both having Tim Tebow bobblehead giveaways in the next couple weeks! On that note, anyone heard any update on the chances of Tebow getting another promotion before the end of the year?

He's really struggling right now. Hitting .103/.159/.121/.279 in his last 17 games. Down to .228 in High-A

Ahh...I actually hadn't looked at what his numbers had been lately. That makes sense then why I hadn't heard much about him lately. Thanks!

How is a UGA fan also a Tebow fan? :L

Strikeout rate is sky high at 30%

I believe the average at the MLB level this year is 21%. Tebow's 30% is at A-Ball.

376 At Bats - 114 Ks = 30.3%?

I guess if you use plate appearances instead of ABs it's 26.8.....which is still sky high

Well I assumed you were using plate appearances since you said the league average was around 21%, which it is if you use PA, not at bats.

It's certainly high because...he's not very good.

I probably confused myself about what I read. But yea, publicity stunt by the Mets is all this was.

After he fails in baseball his next attempt will be to be the Cleveland Cavs starting SG.

Well there's a PG spot opening once you send Kyrie over to the Celtics
