You mean teams who draft a RB with the intention of that guy having a significant role?
Assuming Cleveland does not take Barkley...

Indy
Washington
Seattle
Denver
TB
NYG
DET

Unfortunately there aren't that many impact rookies in this draft, little more than half that

Curious why you think Miami, the Jets, and Texans are on your list, they're all set, especially when Miami grabs Denver's cast-off in CJ. Assuming the Panthers appearance is in reference to a short yardage banger type compliment to McAffrey?

They'd be ditching Miller cuz they think Foreman is ready, so while I could definitely see them adding another, not so sure they'd be planning on him seeing a ton of work.
Would hardly say Crow, Powell and Eiljah "what's his name" are washups. Can't see them being big players, especially given everything else they need

Agree Panthers get a banger, not a 3 down guy
Fins get a 3rd down RB
Bills could try to find shady replacement
Colts
Broncos
Raiders
Steelers if they can't please bell?
Ravens

All teams I could see bringing in real competition for touches or guys for certain roles/packages

Man that'd be nice! But if the Raiders grab any offense outside of a tackle before round 4, they effed up.
Lynch, Martin, Richard, Washington..talk about washups and a couple never will be's though

I didn't think RB ever come back successfully from an Achilles tear?
History is not very promising.
Think Leshoure was the best case scenario of a RB coming back and he only lasted a season.

Last I heard was it wasn't a complete tear(?). The Texans seem awfully optimistic, I certainly can't imagine there'd be rumors of them ditching Lamar if they weren't happy with the progress so far.

Last guy with any name at RB to try it was Arian Foster, who was on his last legs to start with.

If Crabtree can do it 3-4 years ago or whatever, there's hope

Not sure that where they land is the issue.
Not all players get the same opportunity.
Here's last year's rookie RB who had at least 1 rushing yard and 1 receiving yard.

2017 Rookie RB with at least 1 rush yard and 1 rcvg yard.png

From what I've read about Achilles injuries and the various positions, RB is generally the worst. All other positions from CB, DL and WR seem to come back not much worse for wear. But (and I'm paraphrasing) because a RB needs to plant and cut and changes direction more frequently, there is a reduction in their effectiveness.

The other young RB of note:
Lendale White - played 4 seasons then tore Achilles in 2010 preseason. Hasn't played since.
Andre Brown - 4th round rookie tore Achilles in camp in 2009. Played briefly in 2012 & 13.

Well, I ain't saying he's a lock, I sure as shit don't know anything more than anyone else. But putting the pieces together, my best guess is that the injury wasn't as severe as others, and that the Texans wouldn't dream of getting rid of Miller, if there was a big doubt...after that??? Maybe it's all posturing? I dunno, just going off the rumors I've heard, and drawing conclusions based off those.

Texans need to fix their OL and secondary, both were garbage last yr for most of the season

if they had more picks - don't have 1st or 2nd rounder - then I'd say RB would be a possibility, but since they don't, I think the 'cut Miller' rumors don't have any real steam behind them.

Maybe I'll repost the rookie numbers when I get home sorted by all purpose yards.

I'm sure someone will proudly claim that they predicted Kamara's success last year, but when you consider they had Adrian Peterson and Mark Ingram ahead of him; not to mention playing for a Saints team not known for running much....

Kamara was on my short list until that landing spot, I'll tell ya that much...after that I really wasn't banking on much...oops

Teams that draft a RB that will be planned on to have an impact:
NYG, TB, Seattle, Carolina, Washington

Teams that draft a RB that will not be relied upon unless.......
Denver, Indy, NYJ, Houston, Detroit,

Teams that take a flyer on a RB for depth:
Cleveland, Miami, SF, Pitt, Balt, Oak, SD, ARZ, Min, Dal

That's 20 teams. Since this draft class is deep, some of the teams looking for depth might choose to wait until after the draft to pick up 3rd and 4th string guys.

If I were to find best fit for some of these guys:
Barkley in TB
Michel in NYG
Chubb in Carolina
Guice in Seattle
Penny in Washington

Jones in Denver
Johnson in Indy
Freeman in Detroit
Hines in Houston
Kelly in NYJ
Walton in Miami
Scarbrough in Dallas

Well, I got home and pulled the rookie stats on RB going back to 2015.
There is absolutely no rhyme or reason.
The numbers are all over the place.
The 1st and 2nd rounders did the best.
Or at least had the most opportunities.
But you had some 3-7 rounders as well as some undrafted players who did well, while others did nothing or were relegated to special teams.

I think there's a good chance Miami grabs one. They seem pretty unsure of drake.

Why do people think GB drafts a RB when they took 3 last year and still have Monty in the hybrid role?

I dint really expect them too as much as i think there's opportunity if they do take one. They don't have any proven backs and the 2 they took last year both were late picks.
