I was hoping that Riley would start to phase him out by hiring a co-defensive coordinator or even an understudy of sorts (that would not listen to shit Mike had to say). The conspiracy theory freak in me thinks that Bob made a deal with Riley to keep Mike on for a given amount of time in exchange for the HC job.

Problem is Mike goes around fucking everything up. A position coach teaches a technique and mike comes in behind him and changes it entirely. Real disconnect between he and the staff and it leads to a lot of frustration from the players which we’ve seen on the field. Dude is a fucking cancer and Riley needs to have the balls to cut it out or were not gonna be contenders next year.

OK, I'll participate because I'm bored:

1. Michigan lost our OL coach to FSU (Greg Frey), picked up a TE coach from CMU (Sherrone Moore) and still have an open coaching spot since Enos came and quickly departed for Bama.
2. Michigan returns 9/11 defensive starters after top DE Chase Winnovich chose to stay for his final year
3. Michigan picked up Ole Miss transfer Shea Patterson, and all signs point to him gaining eligibility this year (along with a few fellow Ole Miss transfers that went elsewhere).

Shea Patterson is good but don’t expect him to be a savior.

What Michigan needs is simply a competent offense. If we get that, we're in business. We just need to finish in the top 50 on that side of the ball and I think he's capable of getting us there.

They have the pieces in place for him to be extremely successful. They've got two WRs that will be sophomores that are supremely talented along with Karon Higdon at RB, who's capable of huge numbers as long as they feed him.

I love it. I look forward to this year's Game being a top 5 matchup if Patterson is eligible.

Lost our Heisman Winning QB.
Lost some OL to the NFL.
Lost a running back to transfer.
New QB will look good in practice but we have no idea.
The Defense won't be able to step up and replace what we lost on offense.
Taking a big step back but good enough to win the Big XII again.

Trust me I know what that thought process is like...it ends with a Peach Bowl loss to the true national champion.

I mean, I've seen the kids play. They're tremendously talented. They just had shit QB play. It's a pretty fair projection.

This will be a monthly thread at Florida State.

Obviously, most everything will be new.

We lost a bunch of early entrants into the NFL, but that's normal in Tally.

Understanding is a great deal of player excitement about the new coaching staff.
I'll probably actually pay attention to the Spring Game to see our new "Gulf Coast
Offense." We've got talent and speed, always do, so I want to see them get in space.

At the moment...Recruiting has taken center stage. And it has been a gigantic surprise.
45 days ago we were in the 60's (Rivals) After yesterday we have moved to 16th.

In regard to elite players (4 or 5*) we're tied for 9th place, with 12 of them 1 (5) 11 (4).
Only have 15 total players coming in at the moment. (Only 3 (3's) 3-s grow on trees in
Florida so filling out the remaining 10 openings, we would finish in the top 10 if we signed
nothing but 3 stars. However, they are telling us, they aren't going to do that.

We'll take every 4 we can get. (I think there are only 3 or 4 5's still available) and we may
take a couple of 3's to fill out some position needs. We are told not to expect more than
21 or 22 total signees but 14 or 15 of them should be 4 or 5 stars.

Class looks like it is going to exceed expectations considering the gaps we had to overcome.

6 days to go.

1) Really hoping not to hear anything about them the entire offseason. Most offseason updates are bad.

That would be an NCAA infraction, so I'll let the bagman take care of it.

Added...

4 Players are no longer members of the team
2 OL, 1 DL and 1 QB.

Nothing to fret.

1OL and 1 DL are both medically disqualified. (Neither one saw any real time)

1 OL is just moving on. There was one year where he was listed on the depth chart
but he couldn't play.

1QB 5th year senior JJ Cosentino. He was a good-looking kid. 6-5 230 but he never got
the hang of it and was a statue back there. Only had 1/2 game where he got any meaningful
reps. The Peach Bowl 3 years ago. That was a nightmare. I always expected him to
transfer earlier. Maybe to a Youngstown State or Villanova or Delaware type program.
He was from Pittsburgh. Good size but he had no business in FBS.
