Is it possible that Penn State did more to help their case for the tournament than Nebraska? Everyone has said the B1G will get 4 teams in, 5 at the most. Penn State won 2 games in the conference tournament and made it to the semi-final. They also have 3 wins against Ohio State.

Call me nuts, but I could see a scenario where if the B1G gets a 5th team it is PSU and not the Huskers.

It is possible. Their resume looks better than ours.

We would be the more popular choice, but Penn State would make more sense as far as numbers go.

Still, as much as the Big 10 was down this year, Lunardi was asked if an Indiana or a Michigan were in Nebraska or Penn State’s position right now, would they be in or on the bubble? He responded with they’d probably be in.

So the name on the front of the jersey does play in to this. It’s not 100% about resume, and that is dumb in my opinion.

Still, there is no valid reason for Nebraska to argue that they’re a tournament team given the games they’ve won this season. It’s unfortunate, there will be teams that aren’t as good as Nebraska who make the tournament as at-larges, but that’s just how it works.

We can’t act like we didn’t have any opportunities at all. We had very few, but we did have opportunities and didn’t cash in.

So the way I see it we better hope they let 6 B1G teams in and that just ain't happening. Hate to be a pessimist here, but I just don't see it happening.

From what I’ve heard Nebraska has a better chance of getting in than Penn State. Makes no sense, I know.

What it tells me is that more goes into this selection process than just a resume.

Nebraska will have far more of a following than Penn State will because we have a ridiculous amount of what I call bandwagon fans.

Also if we didn’t have Bill Moos I’d pretty much guarantee you we wouldn’t stand a shot, but I believe him when he says he’s working the committee and has formed relationships with nearly every member.

Crazy joe has Michigan as a 3 seed

Wonder where he’ll have us after Kansas State loses 1st game to TCU, Providence loses 1st game to Creighton, Arizona State loses 1st game to Colorado, Baylor loses 1st game to WVU, Texas loses 1st game to Iowa State, USC loses 1st game to Oregon State, UCLA loses 1st game to Stanford, Alabama loses 1st game to A&M, Louisville loses 1st game to FSU, Marquette loses 1st game to DePaul, Oklahoma State loses 1st game to Oklahoma, Notre Dame loses 1st game to Pitt, Syracuse loses 1st round to Wake Forest, and Boise State loses 1st game to someone?

If I were Moos I'd be telling the committee that 'if they don't let Nebrasketball into the big dance, then sMiles blood will be on THEIR hands'.
They'll cave.

To me that seems like an extremely tough sell.

But this is likely what Moos is spending all week hounding the committee with.

I’ll tell you this much, if we’re that surprise team to make the field like there usually is every year then Moos played a big part in it.

I mean, there has never ever been a year where a couple of teams get in that doesn’t make the entire nation go :wtf:

We just have to hope that’s us this year. Those surprise teams that do get in with worser resumes than others that don’t get in.....there must be something other than the resume working for them.

You just never know. All the math doesn’t have to always add up.

Louisville might have permanently popped Nebraska’s bubble.

Depends where the committee had them, but they were likely on the outside looking in and were one of the few teams we had to have lose.

Came out and got up 25 points on FSU and it was too much for the Noles to overcome.
