Let's do this. Huge division game. Diggs out. Need our defense to step up big and o-line to hold up just enough.

Great start, defense. I just don't understand what happened to the defense. Not too many injuries and yet after a season and a half of really good play, they've reverted to 2 seasons ago.

I certainly wouldn't call this defense elite.

17 yards rushing in the first half. They need to improve just to reach pathetic. Other than fucking up the handoff, I could play RB on this team.

I have Blair Walsh PTSD. I assume every kick is going to be missed.

To be fair, I'm not sure any RB would be able to put up respectable games behind this O-line. Let's not forget how poorly AP did behind this line even before the injuries started piling up, even if he does usually start the seasons off slow. Calling that O-line Swiss cheese would be overrating them. It's what they get for consistently ignoring the line in the draft for most of the past decade.

Fucking Bradford

I won't put the loss entirety on Bradford, and still think the loss falls pretty squarely on the O-line like most of their losses. It's tough for the offense to do much when defenders are consistently breaking through the O-line before the backs even make it back to the LOS and the QB has so little time to throw that they simply can't attempt anything other than short, quick passes. But yeah, that Bradford pick was downright ugly, on a Favre-esque choke level.

This has 2003 written all over it... amazing start to the year at 5-0 (6-0 in 2003), then they immediately proceed to shit the bed by dropping 4 straight, ending the season at 9-7 and missing the playoffs. They'll be lucky to finish at .500 at the rate they're currently going. It really sucks that they don't have their 1st rounder next year either, and they'll need to be aggressive in free agency to make up for it.

ya know we can harp on the O-line all day but that facts remain that our D shit the bed both games as against Detroit when it counted most. Couldn't get off the field on 3rd down and after a great punt by Locke backs em inside the 5 with under five to go we can't stop em without giving up the tying FG. Too many injuries all around has shown our lack of depth. How the fuck is Charles Johnson still on this team and Mackinnon and Asiata are nothing but 3rd down backs. D line, too many holes and if we don't blitz we basically got no pressure today:L

Blaming the defense for any of this season's failures is simply nonsensical. The Vikings offense consists of the league worst #32 rushing attack by a wide margin of 2.7 ypc and 70 fewer total yards to the #31 Giants' 3.4 ypc. Their passing attack isn't much better at just #25, with a league worst total offense, and just #22 in scoring O. Let's not forget that they had arguably the worst kicking game in the league before cutting Walsh after 9 games after he was missing easy FGs/PATs left and right, and even botched a kickoff.

Meanwhile, the D is #3 in total defense, #2 in points allowed, #3 in passing, and #12 in rushing. Basically, this team is 6-5 with rapidly dissipating playoff hopes despite having the #2 D in points allowed. Yet, you're talking about how the D took a dump in a game where they held Detroit to 13 right up until the end of the game, and the offense turning it over deep in their own territory to give the Lions an easy game ending FG?

Just look at how many points the O put up in the losses: Philly 10-21, Chicago 10-20, Detroit 16-22, Washington 20-26, Detroit 13-16. They didn't even score 3 full TD/PATs worth of points in a single game, and put up sub 14 point games in three of them. The only loss where the offense was respectable was in Washington, but they didn't do anything outside of the second quarter. Now compare that with their wins, where the Vikes scored 22+ in all but 1 of their games where they scored 17 against Green Bay; the offense was actually giving the defense a chance to win games at that point.

This is the NFL in 2016, dude. When your offense is essentially THE worst in the league (injuries or not), no defense is going to carry you to anywhere near a Superbowl title aside from stumbling on a legendary 1985 Bears/2000 Ravens shutdown D and a great kicking game.

it's a little harder to get them to pour the perfect beer, should be able to do that by age 4...good luck with the training.

At least they crashed and burned before getting to the playoffs.

I don't think any team has enough depth on the bench to absorb this many injuries. Even so, either the Oline needs to hit the weight room, or they're soft, they're certainly big enough to get a good push off the ball.

Gonna be a tough off season, need to build an Oline and they need a starting running back, I don't think McKinnon or Asiata fill that need.

How much cap space , if any, will they get if they release AD.
