My first thought was what an audience it would be if they could scrap the photo op and just spend the time talking to the President.

Problem is I personally believe the photo op would be the only reason this President would be interested in this event. And certainly not in hearing them out.

As for the invite...I agree that you accept if invited. But you accept or decline as a team. I have not followed this close enough to know how this has gone.

Ultimately though....the concept of badgering someone that a certain position taken is either patriotic or not should never be a thing. Typing up a letter to bash the guy who made the biggest play in team history is total douche-canoe-ary.

I don't give a rats ars if they go or not. That is their choice. I don't think it's a pussy way out. You can respect the position and not like the man. But they would go and photo op with the man. I have zero problems with him not wanting to go.

But writing a letter like that is the true pussy person.
