Ok so i dont feel like running to the store.

I have a top round steak, its 12 oz, pretty thin about 1/4 inch, wanna make it stovetop..........suggestions......

Heat up a pan, very hot. drizzle a bit of olive oil. let the steak get to room temp, salt and pepper the fuck out of it. toss in the pan, let it go two min on each side, don't touch it just flip it once. take off stove and put a big pad of butter on it and some fresh tyme if you have it. put the pan in the oven on 350 until it reaches your liking. for a thin steak prolly about 2 minutes for mid rare.

This... Don't get cute with it. Just salt/pepper and sear for a few minutes on each side. And literally you don't even need to do the oven step. 1/4" thick is pretty thin so searing it for a few minutes on each side and then allowing it to "rest" for an additional 2-3mins on the cutting board will allow it to cook even further. That's one thing people forget... Just because you took it off the pan or out of the oven doesn't mean its done cooking. That's why a lot of people overdo it and dry them out.

Add butter/garlic to the pan before the steaks to add some basting flavor. But not necessary.
