I have been complaining about spacing with the starting unit, but it appears that I was overlooking some important factors. Our starting five as a group are plus 9 while averaging 20 minutes per game as a unit.
Our losses are happening because our bench has been a disaster. Not only when we have the whole bench in the game, but when we have one or two bench players with the starters we are struggling. We need to try to find some answers for the bench. I don't know that there is one change that will fix the bench, and some of the problem is likely due to the bench players needing more time to learn each other and to learn to play with some of the starters. Part of the problems we are having are tied to making so many changes to the roster during the season.
Can we fix things quickly enough to make the playoffs?
I don't know, and it isn't going to get any easier until RJ is 100%.
