Cammalleri was playing in the B6, he isn't meant for that type of role. Jokinen is a bit more versatile, more suited for those B6 positions. Sounds like it was more of a fit for fit type trade more than anything, Edmonton was looking for some cheap offensive help.

Low risk move for both teams.

Cammy added scoring depth, I didn't like the signing but he was doing fine. I really don't see Jussi as more versatile at this point, just a b6 guy. Personally I would rather a t6 guy on the b6 than a b6 guy on the t6

Did he though really? He got 4 of his 7 points in one game against Montreal and 3 of his 4 goals were on the PP. He diidn't mesh well this time around in the T6, he isn't a T6 player anymore.

He wasn't doing much with about 13:00 ATOI, at least this gives him a chance to play in a system more open than LA's and gives the Kings a chance to see what Jokinen can do. A team's B6 can alter a game at times, and the Kings' needs some help.

Per the Blog
Blake says Cammy wasn't happy with how he was being used. He wanted iofalo spot.
Blake wouldn't say he asked for a trade, just he wasn't happy

This makes sense. Why did he sign with the Kings anyway?

If he wasn't happy about play time, ya I guess get rid of him. As far as putting up 4 of 7 points in 1 game, fine with me how many games has Jokinen affected this year? Well in a good way. Jussi has 1 assist in his 12min toi a game on a system that is more open.....hopefully he can build on that haha

He probably thought he was a shoe-in for that Iofalo spot, I don't think any of us thought it was a good fit when he did sign with LA....kinda like really?

Fair enough, but that illustrates my point - it was a fit for fit trade. Cammalleri gets to go into a more wide open system, Jokinen comes to a more conservative one. Both those guys fit those roles and the dollars are just about even.

It was a bit puzzling for sure, but keep in mind Gaborik was already slotted to be out long term so they were down an offensive player before camp even broke. It was a support role, not a T6 role and a low risk/high reward move. Can't really blame Blake considering the financial mess he inherited.

Not really surprised about Cammalleri and ice time, he has always been a me me type player. Remember arbitration in summer 2007? Dude went in asking for $6 million a year after an 80 point season. He ended up getting 2 years/$6.7 million and was traded the next summer to Calgary. He also threatened to go the collegiate UFA route with Dave Taylor the summer after he was drafted, forcing Taylor to sign him to the ELC max in 2002 before Taylor was ready to.

I don't think it was a coincidence he was traded the same summer Doughty, considered a franchise defenseman before he was even drafted by LA. Dumbo was huge on character as we know and I have a feeling he didn't want guys like Cammalleri and O'Sullivan near the young, developing core of the team. If I recall, he said something in Montreal too which prompted them to move him back to Calgary too.

Never was a fan of him for these types of selfish reasons, so I was happy when he was shipped off. He hit 82 points his first season in Calgary, cashed in on 5 years/$30 million from Montreal and never came close to that again. I was hoping being a wiser, older veteran now he would have changed so I was open to seeing him in LA again but it looks like you can't change the stripes on a tiger.

Doesn't Jokinen have an excellent shootout record?
Working now or would look it up.

I'm wrong--the Devils center Jacob Josefson is 3rd among active players (another JJ name, lol)
Jokinen is 43rd.

Hopefully Jokinen is what they need on the b6, cant hurt at this point and 3 game loosing streak isn't fun.

Got an assist on Kopitar's goal last night, already more productive than Cammalleri and doubling his season point total in 1 game as a King. Lookout cook out, The Juice is loose!

You knew I had to give you shit, right?

He was for the last half of the 2000s after the SO was introduced. If anything, since it's almost 2018, that should tell you how old we have all gotten..

Just shaved off my mustache this morning in the shower, I was doing the Movember thing but Wed at a prospect meeting I had a jalapeno cream cheese bagel and walked out with that stuff smeared all over my stache and no one told me. I walked around looking some gay pornstar with jizz on my face so I said screw it and got rid of it. My daughters also refused to give dad a kiss in the mornings when I drop them off at school.

In doing so and getting a good look at my mug in the mirror, I have gray hair everywhere now in any of my facial hair whether it be a beard, goat, whatever. Pretty nutty how long some of us have been here and known each other. It's pretty cool.
