Seems strange to see the #11 ranked team(Northwestern) with 3 first place votes. Stanford has finally moved past USC. Utah is only 6 points away from passing Ohio St. for#1.

They're down at #11 because people moved them down in their poll to offset the people that gave them top 3/5 votes

@tabascojet if you don't think NW is down as far as 6 spots below Cal to help people offset the people who put NW at the top, then why do you think some people have Northwestern that low?

There's no metric, no formula, and no eye test that can reasonably debate that Cal deserves to be that much higher than NW. The only thing that makes sense is people are just dropping NW to try to influence the poll.

A lot of people have different methods of ranking you included but do I think someone purposely tanked northwestern to offset number one votes ...no I don't. Personally I think cal is overated and it will play itself out but others who voted seem high on them too. Nw hasn't really overly impressed me either but they have handled the teams on their schedule so far so I think 11 is right where the should be.

I wasn't asking where you had them ranked where you do.

I just don't see how anyone could justify ranking NW that much worse than Cal and since you disagreed I was asking you if you could come up with a reason, other than to offset high rankings of NW, that someone could possibly have Cal ranked soooo much higher than Northwestern. And, you're response was not at all related to that.

Then you should.probably ask the person that voted that way then make up some conspiracy theory. Crimson king has shown time and again that the subtraction or addition of one poll really doesn't have that much effect on the final outcome.

I asked you because you said it was bullshit that people would rank NW low to offset their high rankings. I assumed you might at least understand the logic behind some of the rankings instead of just decide its bullshit. I don't see the need to ask others when you're the one telling me that's not what's going on.

And exactly how many egregious polls did you find to base your findings on?

It's funny how Georgia can still be in the top 25, but West Virgina ain't.

Do the comparison, I think you'll agree.

Not sure how Texas A&M is in the top 10 they are way too high

other than that better than the others

Northwestern has to be the lowest ranked team in SportsHoopla poll history with not just one first place vote, but multiple first place votes.

Who the hell looks at other polls then tries to offset a team with their own poll.
That's retarded.

Just do your poll.
After you get past the top 10 it's just plug and play mostly.
Each week will have some pretty big swings in it unless you are one of those old school guys that has a hard time adjusting.

Texas A&M and Northwestern both played Ball State. A&M led 49-3 at halftime. Northwestern trailed 10-7....
