Schnelly hated the Oklahoma tradition stuff.

That did him in more than anything else.

He tried to erase all the history and start a whole new Sooner era.

Us longhorns enjoyed watching him try to erase all the ties and memorabilia items linking OU to its past.

It would be like Texas hiring someone who wanted to remove any mention of DKR from its program.

We embrace our history at Texas.

Oklahoma does as well.

Schnelly should have known better to try and erase it.

Although that part about DKR being an Okie has been airbrushed out of the Texas history books.

59-42-5[/QUOTE]

That number has been getting closer. What's going to happen to the texas fans when they can't fall back on the wins from the 1900's to defend them?

Easy, Scape, those games back when the end zones were creeks are quite relevant to a UT fan. Before the days of radio. The Wright Brothers had just gotten the first airplane off the ground. That is REAL football to UT fans. The "modern" era means little.

Of course if OU had been shut out by Texas or been on the wrong end of 4 of the most massive beatdowns in history in the past decade, we'd have heard all about that, but since that wasn't the case, the overall W-L record is more suitable for those who suffer from Mad Cow Disease.

I still think it says volumes that the UT stadium is named after a native Okie and OU AA.

In the last 25 year, Oklahoma made up exactly 1 game.

In the post world world 2 era, the Sooners actually lost 1 game.

In the Big 12 era, Oklahoma made up exactly 2 games.

Keep telling us all about the leather helmets.

You are starting to sound lie aTm with that line.

Horns....one of the few things I like trolling you guy's about is, well the fact that Mack Brown has some kinda obsession with Chris Simms. I know I may be off but playing abilities wise...David Ash reminds me of Chris Simms.

The other thing I like to raz Longhorns about it those statues they made of Vince Young, Colt Mccoy and others. I believe they ended up throwing them away.

David Ash is not really like Chris Simms.

I understand that Mack does have a stubborn infatuation with the big blond quarterback with a cannon no matter how badly they play. (Simms and Gilbert)

Ash seems to fit that big blond quarterback thing as well...but that is where it ends...

Ash is actually a Major Applewhite guy.
Mack and Bryan Harsin leaned towards Gilbert and Case McCoy.

Plus, Ash is from a very modest homeschooled background. He was a 3-star recruit without any famous last names (Simms, McCoy) or a 5-star cant miss (Glibert).

He should never be confused with the Rockstar celebrity wannabes like Chris Simms.

In fact, his biggest obsession seems to be reading scriptures and spending all of his time at church. Apparently he is a shy guy who spends more time reading the bible than out partying with skanks on the riverwalk for bowl games.

Keep telling us all about the leather helmets.

because that is where your advantage was, back in the day. It sure ain't been in the past 60 years.......

since WWII/1945, OU is 32-33-3 vs da Whorns.

1903 to 1944 OU is 8-20-2.

Seems pretty clear to me.

Wheat, you're quite the CFB historian. Have the Mad Cows ever hung 60+ on us?

Didn't we shut them out in 2004? The first time the Mad Cows had been shut out in like 30 years? Did that happen, too, Wheat?

Not really, we have far more National Championships than you do. A&M brings nothing to that discussion. In fact, we've won as many since 1974 as you have in all the years the Mad Cows have played football.

I sure as hell would rather not get obliterated and shut out in the modern era than cling to the Wright Brothers era to lubricate our relevance, let alone supposed "superiority."

But man, back when those end zones were creeks.... :laugh3:

Actually, Horns, you just made the argument about leather helmets for us. If since WWII there is just one game difference between the two, that means ALL of Texas' lead in the series came before WWII, before NCAA regulations, and before OU was considered a D-1 team.

But if it helps you sleep at night, I'l ok with that.

Even with the truth laid out right before his very eyes, I'm betting he still won't get it.....

Uh....Horns, even though your numbers are slightly off, you're still proving the point. At one time....a long, long time ago BTW, OU was owned by Texas. That time has long since passed.

Ok Sooners, keep up the jabbing. Better get it all in while you can. This year you have a rookie team going up against a hungry veteran Longhorn bunch. Last year was embarrasing - but this year revenge will be served. Don't expect it to be close.

All in all good to see a number of you made it here. A little disappointed more of my fellow Austin refugees haven't made it yet. Gonna be a little overmatched once season starts and its just me and Horns vs all of you.

Horns, we gotta get the Texas board moving.

There are some Horns fans here. They usually don't band together though. When RRSO week rolls around and they will be coming out of the woodwork.
