He was OKAY.

He played behind Justin Smith who is quite possibly one of the most underrated 3-4 DEs of all time, that allowed a complete free reign of Smith on opposing runningbacks and lackluster OT play pivoting out to stop a speed 3-4 edge rusher.

Justin Smith was the MVP of that front 7 (maybe outside of a healthy Willis). Could've put Mark Sanchez in Smith's spot and he would've gotten a few sympathy sacks.

For some reason, I feel a little sorry for Aldon.
I bet that if he was around the right people, he could have succeeded at a high level.

Yeah, I'm a sap.

He hasn't been a good pass rusher in years. The last couple of years in SF he looked pretty ordinary out there.

He caused us fits trying to block him back in the day ... If he would a dedicated himself and kept all the other stuff in his life clean, the sky was the limit for him...

Dude was a natural, definitely caused us some problems back in the day... Just couldn't keep himself clean... I remember the 1st play of the NFC title game, not only caused a fumble but recovered it... I liked the guy as a player...

He was dominant for a couple of years but really dropped off. His sack numbers dropped off and he wasn't getting pressure on the QB. He wasn't getting double teamed either. He couldn't shake offensive lineman.

That's a shame, if he dedicated himself I think he would a been a great ...
