It's funny how things change over time. It used to be only the rich could afford to go see a game in person while the less fortunate had to watch it at home on tv. Now the rich (meaning almost everyone) all have 55 inch tv sets so they can watch the games in the comfort of their own home, while the less fortunate are sent to the game to fill up the stadium and make it more exciting for the people watching on tv.
It's free for them this time. Eventually we will be paying them to go to the games....

So, they are donating them to a bunch of people that really need them...puerto ricians and refugees from who the fuck knows where displaced by the weather

A journalistic Feel good story and a hell of a tax write-off for the owners, but really does nothing for anybody or for society as a whole

Hopefully those he got the free seats were able to sell them. Then they could buy stuff they actually need instead of sitting for free at a game they have no interest in, paying exorbitant prices for food, drink, and parking.

They actually got food/beverage vouchers and transportation to the game too.

That's good to hear. Still, we're talking about people that could use the money much more than tickets to a football game.

Well the Jags gave them to organizations they've already been working with. So I'm sure those organizations handed them out to people who wanted to go. They didn't have to give out any. Seems petty to criticize what they gave away.

Seems self-aggrandizing to report this as a public service to refugees. Give them food and shelter, and not just for a 3 hour game.

Do you know all the things the Jaguars have done for refugees in the last year?

No. But I do know this is the only thing that was publicized here as a supposed news story.
Neither do I. So I'm not gonna judge them on the things they haven't given, when I have no idea if they have or have not given anything. And not in a story of them doing something they didn't have to do. That's all I'm saying.

You are just shitting all over the Jags for makign a nice gesture.

I am going to chalk this on up as "still bitter about the Rams game".
