My main concern is the wide receivers and establishing a deep threat.

They havent needed to throw much and I think the fact Cardale hasnt been great they have just ran the ball. What happens when they are forced to throw. I trust Barrett and his accuracy. What about some of these receivers with limited opportunities? What about the deep passes? We havent seen much of that this year.
It is probably too early but I think Marshall or Brax could be that deep guy it is just they arent that type of WR's. They are slot guys that run wildcat and sweeps. I love that they are running it more with Elliott bc that is their strong point but I think we will see them pass more this week with a guy they trust throwing the ball more in Barrett.

This team should pretty much be able to run on anyone with Barrett back there. The passing game will come with that sort of threat

I feel like we haven't seen a deep play threat emerge because the play calling hasn't called for any deep balls

I agree, they never even threw with Cardale and definitely not deep

I think part of the reason Cardale looked so bad was they didn't call plays based on his skill set. Now I am just a couch qb and we're talking about Urban fucking Meyer but I have to wonder if the transition from Herman to the new OC is the reason for the rocky start.

And they didn't eliminate plays they know don't work with him. Such as the outside QB run of zone read

I'm not too concerned about the long ball as I am that we need to get the ball to Michael Thomas more. The dude makes plays and JT or Cardale should be looking his way at all times.

They called some deep balls for Cardale earlier in the year, but his decision making was too slow, and the balls ended up being badly underthrown as a result.

I feel a little better now. JT just needs more and more time and the passing offense will be back.

Miller seems to get a little more comfortable each week at receiver as well

Well, this thread seems to be spot on. I think we have a lot of concerns moving forward. Zeke and Cardale opening their mouths after this loss just opened up a can of worms. Now we have a mess possibly with the locker room. I don't think this gets fixed before "The Game." Some things you just don't do with the media is to throw your entire coaching staff under the bus. Good bye Zeke and CJ, thanks for the memories.
