Maybe not odd...more like "special". lol

Good thing it's impossible then, huh.

There's a difference between wanting something to happen and it actually happening. This Warriors dynasty will end just like every one before it did.

I've seen my favorite team win 3 titles in a row and the 3rd one was just as special as the first one.

And if they had just won it last yea and won it again this year, it would still be special. They all are.

    lol

And yet, here you are commenting on a forum about a league that you claim you haven't watched in at least 15 years (depending on which retirement) with a Chicago Bulls (you know they're in the NBA, right?) logo under your avatar.

Maybe he doesn't watch because his team is such a huge underdog?

See what I did there? Completely pointless for the casual fan of a specific team when the team sucks. I can tell you as an underdog Wizard fan, I would much rather be where GS is and hell, even LA, Boston and Philly are.

Exactly. I remember some early/mid 90's Lakers teams and the Kobe Lakers after Shaq left that were underdog teams going into the playoffs and almost pulled off some first round upsets.

That was a lot of fun.

But, in both cases, a few years later, when they won titles...that was a lot more fun.

There's no sense in creating a new rule to fix something this rare. The Warriors put themselves in the position, why shouldn't they be rewarded for drafting and developing players and signing them to team friendly deals? Why penalize teams for being successful when the odds of this success being repeated is so minimal anyway?

Pay no nevermind to that Bulls logo.......I still have a Bulls logo with a 72-10 tattoo on my leg.lmao....

What once was is no longer......Kinda the way the NBA is........
With teams not being able to attract free agents and can not compete in the playoffs, why even have a team.....I tend to think some would wanna fold, less even try........

    I have two thoughts...

The first is that while I dislike the collusion aspect and teams stocked like GS allowed to buy a player like Cousins for peanuts. But teams still have to play the games. Many teams stockpiled talent and had a hard time winning a title. The Portland Jailblazer years and the late 70's 76'rs...

The second thing is that this is what happens when the inmates run the asylum. The owners bowed to the players and now we get this crap. Until they grow a few pairs, this will be the forever norm.

That isn't the problem. The NBA is a player's league and that is why it is so popular today. Because the league is good at capitalizing on the personalities and talents of its best players.

The problem is that there are a mind boggling number of horrendously run franchises in the NBA. And I am not talking about bad teams on a year to year basis. Every team goes through down stretches from
Time to time. I am talking about teams that have gone 20-30 years or more without actually having a real contender.

    Teams like:

    Wizards
    Knicks
    Kings (current regime)
    Hornets
    Magic (current regime)
    Nets
    Nuggets
    Clippers
    Pelicans

These teams are almost never relevant. And some of them have had superstar players.

The league incentivizes teams to tank because you need a superstar to contend. I do not think that is a problem, it is just a fact of life in the NBA. The league is as strong as it has ever been and I sincerely hope owners don't overreact to the once in a lifetime collection of talent the warriors have assembled. Their dynasty will pass and the league will be in agreat place once it does if they stay their current course.

This is why the ownership change of the Warriors is such a vastly underrated part of where they are now. Once they got rid of Cohan, the entire organization and it's philosophy towards putting together a great team changed.

The only team I'd disagree with on that list is the Clippers. They did put together contender worthy teams, but in their peak always suffered some sort of big injury in the playoffs that knocked them out. Whether it was Blake or CP3. At least the Clippers, since Ballmer has been the owner has tried to field good teams. They're in a rebuild now, so we'll have to see where they go, but it's too early for me to say they're mismanaged.

Yeah, maybe a bit harsh on LAC, but I kind of view them as Wizards West.

They have a horrendous history and the last few years with lob city they never played up to their full potential because they had chemistry issues.

I don't think a few years of playoff disappointment in a really tough West makes up for the previous 30 years.

I think we could make an all Hoopla team and compete with most East teams.

Bet you didn't complain back when the league was the Celtics vs the Lakers. It's only a problem if it's not your team.

Exactly. Folks bitch about how players are just all about money and how they don't want to sacrifice money for winning.

Then, when players actually do just that (but with some other team)...they're "breaking the league", "are afraid of competition" or "are taking the easy path".
